Tony Drake qualified?
i wish sir tony drake a long and prosperous career
still denied him entrance.
With the "stuff" that has been going on inside the AD/university to oppose RR, I wouldn't have counted on Drake being admitted anyway.
It's a real shame, as Drake looks like the prototypical slot receiver that RR had at WVU (think Jock Sanders).
Considering the fact that he wasn't accepted into Colorado State until now, I doubt there was any sabotage going on with UofM admissions.
We only talk about players who play for Michigan.
Yeah, the program might, but we don't.

It says that he finally received a high enough score on the SAT for Colorado State to enroll him.

Does anyone know the minimum SAT/ACT score an athlete needs to get into Michigan to play football or other sports. Certainly not what is required for the non-athletic side of things.

Their requirement is the same as every university's - a 400 on the verbal/math SAT, and a sum of 37 on the ACT. It's a sliding scale, depending on GPA. The higher GPA you have, the lower the score you can get away with.
If Seantrel Henderson wanted to come to Michigan and only got a 400 on his SAT, admissions would get him into the school. If it's Joe Schmoe 2-star, they're probably not going to take the risk.

Doesn't ACT only go up to 36?
That's the highest composite score (I think that's what they call it) you can get, but the different sections can add up to higher than that. Let's say you get a 16 on reading comprehension, a 9 on math, and a 12 on science - that would give you a sum of 37, but your composite score might only be a 13 or something like that.

He looked like a really talented kid in his highlight videos. It would have been nice to see him in maize and blue but I'm happy that he can play anywhere.

good for him. i think RR was worried that he wouldn't qualify and needed to move on. that concern was justified because it took him a while to qualify. but the kid beat the odds. seems like it worked out ok for all involved.

Can't really blame the coaches for not wanting to take a risk on the kid not qualifying when we had huge needs on the defensive side of the ball. As it is we have 1 more recruit than we can enroll in the fall so it was probably better for everyone that Drake move on. Congrats to him for qualifying.
Some people don't belong here. Many people.
i agree... jerks like you don't belong
