What guy who's ever swung a baseball bat hasn't wondered how he'd do against woman's fast pitch. Hope to get a report from those who can go!     Note: I'd advise hitting the "fastest" pitch batting cage before you go.

Into my late 20s at various competition levels. Saw some unhittable dudes. Got older and was playing rec league. 2 teams had girls that were maybe a year or 2 out of high school that were pitching for their men's teams. They way more than held their own. I can't imagine many people making intentional contact on Jordan unless she allows them to.

against him. We would rotate every other year, and have the local All-Stars play against Eddie Feigner aka, "The King and his Court. he only had a catcher and 3 or 4 defensivemen. They all had sticks, of course. Someone had to win. Plus I think by lmiting the number of players, guarantedd him a bigger payday.

Because no one would share the pitchers, we played until we were about 25 and then almost everyone went slo-pitch with only one league left in town. Think they had a decent league in the Midland area for years afterward and they would be able to throw one team together from Mason County. Hated to see the game go.

Last I heard of the King, he was teaching his daughter so I imagine they toured for awhile. He was one hell of a talent.

He would put on a show. Sometime he'd throw from 2nd base; he'd put a blindfold on and throw strikes all night. I never did, but one or two guys managed a foul tip. He'd fake a pitch, the catcher would smack his glove and the umpire would yell, SteeeeeeeeeRIKE. Took a few seconds before someone started laughing. The batter never called them on it. If you faced him, you would not forget it. Was actually quite an honor to be selected. Fast pitch was, and where it still exists, still is a great game.

"Unbelievable" gets overused and carries little weight these days. That is not the case with The King. That 2nd base thing is something I'll never forget. There was an article I read 15 some years ago in the GR Press about him pitching against some MLB players at some exhibition and making them look like 5 years olds having sword fights.

I wish I could do this. I currently play fast pitch with a few guys over here in Europe. It would be interesting to see how her speed is. I played one against one of the top Canadian pitchers (Todd Martin) and he was ranked #12 in the world at that time. I managed to take a ball... Hope someone got to hit?

Think it was mythbusters where I saw it, but the gist of it was that even though softballs are thrown with lower velocity, they're harder to hit than you'd think.  They're pitched from a closer distance but that means less time to react with your eyes and their slightly upwards motion is harder to gauge.  So, even though Jennie Finch may be at an athletic disadvantage compared to MLB pros, she can skunk them just as badly as the ten zillion softball players she struck out.

Tracked you down...I was at the game. Just flew in this afternoon and got to see it. I just had hand surgery, or I would have given it a go against Jordan.

I've always wondered if they talk trash to each other. Does the catcher tell the opposing  batter "your mom" or "your dad" put downs to try and unsettle them in the batter's box?" Or are they much more civil than us guys are?
