TomVH: WR Devin Lucien Schedules Visit

Submitted by TomVH on

Four star wide receiver Devin Lucien (6'1", 189 lbs.) just scheduled his official visit to Michigan today. He will be in town for the weekend of January 7th. Lucien is the 28th ranked receiver in the country according to Rivals. Here's his junior film. He was excited, and asked that I send him the link to this post, so he and his mom can see what the fans say. I'll have a full interview with him later, too.

Nice long strides. Can't wait for the Denard to Devin, Tate to Devin and of course, Devin to Devin with a little Dee to Devin flea flicker thrown in.

The Junior Hemingway comparison is apt.  He reminds me a little bit of Marquise Walker, too.  Good sized kid, runs really good routes, goes up and high points the ball.

This kid looks pretty dam polished for it being juior film. #27 wr? I dont think there are 10 wr's out there with better film then that. He is so big and strong, and he is always catching deep balls at the hghest point in his jumps. He is just a bully  carrying the ball. Would love to see him in a Michigan uniform next fall. This guy is gonna be a terror if he puts the work in. Devin, you might be excited for the offer, but alot of people here would be more excited if you accepted it. Best of luck to you either way..Go Blue!

He does a really good job of adjusting to deep throws.  With a couple of years under RR, this kid might be our best vertical threat.  We need this type of receiver on our team.  Although we have good receivers, we don't really have an excellent vertical threat receiver.  We haven't had one since Manningham And Braylon.

I agree with an earlier poster, there's no way there are 27 receivers with better film.  Reminds me of Calvin Johnson with that stiff arm and leaping ability.  Awesome name too.

This kid's got Michigan WR written all over him

Go Blue, Devin!

Plus, there's the eventual Devin Gardner to Devin Lucien combo which will be fun.

"Touchdown, Michigan! And that folks is another Devin to Devin connection "

In addition to having great body control, kid looks like he has great timing too. Not only does he high point the ball, he manages to adjust his body and speed extremely well. Combined with his speed, that's a killer combo.

Devin would be a great addition to this class -- a kid with a good head on his shoulders and great physical capabilities.  He'd have a wonderful opportunity to be worked in to the starting lineup not too long after getting on campus, but before that, he'd have the opportunity to learn from our current WRs who have been in the system for a few years now.

All in all, whichever school he picks will be lucky to get him.  Hope it's us -- we'll definitely show him the most love at least.   How many other schools' fans watch recruit highlight films regularly on this big of a scale and are as knowledgeable about the recruiting landscape as us?!  Devin G to Devin L all day!

Mario Manningham, Marquise Walker, Amani Toomer, David Terrell, Jim Smith, Derrick Alexander, Bennie Oosterbaan, Desmond Howard, Braylon Edwards, Anthony Carter.

You could be next Devin!

Lemme see...great speed, excellent hands, goes up and gets the ball, owns the cornerback, not afraid of the safety over the middle, and, uh, and, uh, oh yeah, WOW WHAT A STIFF ARM!!  How many people did he put on the ground with that thing?  What's not to like? He'd be a great addition, come on Devin, Go Blue!!  Thanks Tom as always, great work!!

Stonum. I love how he catches the ball with his hands, and he's got great speed too.  I'm suprised to see that he isn't one of the top 10 recievers. But Junior and Roy both were ranked outside of the top 30 recievers according to rivals, and look at them now.

Another good kid. I think you'll enjoy your visit, Devin, as this team is loaded with good, smart, humble, hardworking young men that are building a program that is going to be very special for years to cone... I would love to see you in the Maize & Blue!

he is such a natural and well-rounded receiver that he could excel in any system or scheme, under any coach, so he isn't likely to be worried about that.

save yourself time, check out the video at 35 seconds.  That's all you need to know....

Bring this boy here and let Denard throw it up!  This kid has several highlights where he catches the ball at the top of his jump - great timing - and when he grabs the ball, he grabs it tight.  WR's like this are gold with Denard running the offense b/c the CB are often 1 on 1 with our WR's.
