TomVH: WR Devin Lucien Schedules Visit
Four star wide receiver Devin Lucien (6'1", 189 lbs.) just scheduled his official visit to Michigan today. He will be in town for the weekend of January 7th. Lucien is the 28th ranked receiver in the country according to Rivals. Here's his junior film. He was excited, and asked that I send him the link to this post, so he and his mom can see what the fans say. I'll have a full interview with him later, too.

Great news!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:17 PM ^
has some of the best body control and aggressive technique with respect to jump balls that I have seen in a while.. The first few highlights look exactly like Denard to Hemingway..
Runs good routes, looks like he has that extra gear too... would love to see this kid in Wings
December 5th, 2010 at 6:02 PM ^
Oddly enough, this is the helmet on Devin's MaxPreps page...
but
not what Crespi's wearing in the videos...
Nevertheless, the wings will be waiting for him in the original color scheme, should he choose to accept them. And, "Devin to Devin, who makes great catch, twists past a defender and gets lucien down the sideline" jokes aside, would be great to see him wearing the maize & blue.

comparison; Devin definitely has good hands. I also like the way he gets to running North/South quick when he gets his hands on the ball.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:35 PM ^
Good to have explicit evidence of that.
December 6th, 2010 at 6:47 AM ^
Good Hands!
December 5th, 2010 at 4:55 PM ^
The kid looks like a monster! Hopefully we can have some good recruiting news coming up.

December 5th, 2010 at 4:56 PM ^
Made some really nice catches in a few of those highlights. I think he would love AA.
December 5th, 2010 at 4:58 PM ^
Looks good but would like to see rest of class defense.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:04 PM ^
Is a priority for this class. Did you see how many HUGE plays our WRs had this year? We would've lost a couple more games if it weren't for Roundtree, Hemingway and Stonum having huge games against Illinois, Indiana and UMass respectively.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:12 PM ^
We lose our 3 top outside WR's after next season (and maybe Roundtree if he leaves early).
Another outside WR is an absolute must.
December 5th, 2010 at 4:57 PM ^
Looks real solid, crisp routes, good hands and strong in the air.
The Devin to Devin combo could be lethal! Hope to see you and your fam in Ann Arbor next fall! Go Blue!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:32 PM ^
Just wanted to add to the "strong in the air." Kid has great control of his body in the air, would kill the deep jump ball we see in our offense.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:08 PM ^
Would love to see a Devin to Dee to Devin to Devin flea flicker
December 5th, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
Confused.
December 6th, 2010 at 5:04 AM ^
fantastically possible, and where can I find a larger pic of your avatar?
December 5th, 2010 at 5:02 PM ^
Looks damn good with the deep ball. He also plays with good intensity too.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:02 PM ^
Looks like he could be a lot like Hemingway was this year. Physical, great hands, and very shifty. He's got enough talent to see some time as a true frosh and has some great receivers above him that can show him the ropes.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:02 PM ^
a good opportunity for a WR to come to Michigan. Conway is the only other WR commit, and Odoms, Hemingway, and Stonum will be gone after next year.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:02 PM ^
Looks like he's a hell of a player. Would love to him choose to go blue.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:03 PM ^
While watching this video, all I could think about was "wow, this kid looks like Randy Moss when he was with the Pats"
December 8th, 2010 at 1:44 AM ^
Fred Jackson? Is that you?
December 5th, 2010 at 5:04 PM ^
hands, speed and plays physical.... Looks awsome, sign him up.....
December 5th, 2010 at 5:05 PM ^
Catches everything with his hands (and only his hands), that's a great sign...
December 5th, 2010 at 6:26 PM ^
That was the first thing I noticed. He goes after the ball with his hands. Go Blue
December 5th, 2010 at 5:05 PM ^
i think this kid would be a sick WR in our offense! Come to AA Devin, you wont be disappointed.
Devin to Devin for 6!
Go Blue!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:06 PM ^
Looks like Roundtree may have some competition for that #1 jersey eventually. Good hands, which is extremely important in this quick offense. (Crosses fingers)
December 5th, 2010 at 6:46 PM ^
Tom,
Does Devin know the story of the number one jersey? It looks like he would be a strong candidate for the honor.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:07 PM ^
Great time to see some Michigan fans up close as MSU comes to Yost that weekend if I'm not mistaken.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:07 PM ^
Love it when a guy goes up and attacks the ball instead of letting it come to him. He doesn't shy away from contact either. None of that "oops, guy's coming, better tip-toe out of bounds" stuff going on.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:12 PM ^
Height is 6'1 and he plays like he is 6'6. Does a real nice job of going up and catching the ball at it's highest point. Him and Conway on the outside would be scary in this offense.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:14 PM ^
Good speed, good hands, good route-running. And a serious deep ball threat.
December 5th, 2010 at 6:50 PM ^
He's not like Manningham at all.
December 5th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
Manningham never seemed to be a great route runner and it seems to have dogged him at the next level. This kid looks he's coming in with an amazing skill set. He seems to have the skill set to be at least an all conference wide receiver.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:19 PM ^
I hope you enjoy your visit Devin. The team could always use a player of your caliber!
Go Blue!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:31 PM ^
Devin, come to Michigan, be the next #1.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:34 PM ^
He's a good kid, and a great football player. This would be a big get for Michigan.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:37 PM ^
his snag right around 40 seconds was impressive, he plucks the ball out of the air over two defenders. attacking the ball at it's highest point is somthing that can be overlooked, but this guy has natural ball skills. he would be a great addition to Michigan, GO BLUE!!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:39 PM ^
Sign this kid up fast folks, has the hands of a true receiver. Long arms, excellent hands, and great body control. Recipe for a great downfield weapon...make your home in AA for the next 4 years Devin!!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:39 PM ^
00:34... Damn. Devin if you and your mom are reading this, commit immediately.
Go Blue!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:41 PM ^
Amazing hands and catching technique, great stiff arm, great speed, great route-running.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:41 PM ^
Devin, the #1 Jersey is up for grabs if you're willing to work for it!
December 5th, 2010 at 5:43 PM ^
Great highlights. I especially like his adjustment skills around 2'25" to go to the ball when it's not where it's expected to be. Looks to be a very physical wideout who doesn't shy away from contact, almost like a TE...except TEs don't usually catch 75 yard bombs (insert joke about secondary during ND game here).
December 5th, 2010 at 5:46 PM ^
Sick highlight reel.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:51 PM ^
Chris Calloway clone
December 5th, 2010 at 5:51 PM ^
personally what was great to see, was how he "go gets it" when the ball is in the air! Not afraid to cross the middle to catch the ball, with of course his hands. Seems to have that extra gear, and a great ability to punish defenders with stiff arms. Love to see Devin wearing the winged helmet.
December 5th, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
As much as the safeties like to creep down against our running game, we need kids like this who excel at making those jump-ball type catches, and this guy has the knack for it. Also looks like a physical player who will be a capable downfield blocker. Hope he goes blue, obviously.
December 5th, 2010 at 5:54 PM ^
Would be an absolute stud. Go blue, Devin!
