TomVH: Weekend Visitor List

Submitted by TomVH on

This is the weekend of offensive linemen for visits. Here's who I've confirmed:

  • Illinois OL Jordan Diamond: I already reported that he took a quick visit before the Sound Mind Sound Body camp to Ann Arbor. He'll be making his way up to MSU and then probably back to Michigan one more time before they head home.
  • Texas OL Trey Keenan: Had always planned on making it up to Michigan over the summer. I spoke with him awhile back, you can read it here.
  • Tennessee OL Blake Bars: Originally from Michigan.
  • Arizona OL Andrus Peat: He'll be in on Sunday, also heading to Notre Dame.
  • Pennsylvania OL Chris Muller: Has Penn State as his leader, and Penn State fans were surprised he didn't publicly commit to them on his recent visit.
  • Ohio WR Dwayne Stanford: The non offensive lineman that's visiting. I spoke with Dwayne a few days ago about the upcoming trip. His teammate Adolphus Washington will not be on the visit with him.

Camp starts on June 19th and runs to the 23rd. I've confirmed some campers already, but I'll hold off on those until it gets closer to Sunday.

AAU??  Maybe school ball. I coach against him and Stanford's AAU team every year and the team doesn't play together until July. June is for school ball and elite camps.

P.S. their AAU team won their state tourney like 8 years in a row and won AAU nationals at least 2x. Loaded team who plays together during school ball now. They won school ball state this year by 50.

Burbridge, Chesson...any other names would be a little out of left field at this point, and even Chesson hasn't actually visited yet.

That's why I'm really, REALLY hopeful about Stanford. Not a lot out there for a poistion we're going to be stocked at after this year.

Burbridge hasn't been talked about in a while (probably because of grades) and those are our two best chances from what I know (which isn't much).

There's also Laquon Treadwell for 2013 who is Standifer's teammate and really wants an offer. there was twitter exchange between him and Morris that went something like:

Treadwell: Man, you already committed to Michigan?

Morris: Yeah, when are you going to??

Treadwell: As soon as I get this offer, man

So that sounds pretty optimistic there. Anyone else know any 2012 WRs we're in on?

Wow, looking at Peats profile he looks way to skinny to be 305 lbs.  I guess that is a part of why he is rated so highly though.

These kids usually follw the ebb and flow of schools they're interested in online. Knowing about the flood of visiting O-line recruits that started passing through last week, I wonder what the effect will be with the stampede this weekend. If anybody really likes it here (I'm looking at you, Diamond) I wonder if the quantity of interest will inspire them to pull the trigger.

Not that I wouldn't be thrilled to see Bars or Muller onboard, of course.

Tom, you always say that if we can get a kid to visit, then we have a chance. What do you think our chances are with Peat now that he is visiting? I'm not getting my hopes up because I always thought he was a long shot, but just wondering if we have a legitimate shot now.  Thanks again for the updates Tom. Great as always. IHSV

5 Star DT visiting this weekend.

Tommy Schutt, DT Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, IL) is one of the best Class of 2012 recruits from the state of Illinois [16]. Schutt is visiting Michigan this weekend.

Blake Bars definitely has a nasty streak .. he latches on and blocks to the whistle. He was blocking way down field even when the play wasn't near him. I'd love to see that kid come to Michigan.
