TomVH: Three Recruiting Notes **Update**

Submitted by TomVH on

K Matt Goudis told me he's committed for now, but will be visiting Miami next weekend the 14th.

Dallas Crawford told me tonight that Michigan still leads. There is a rumor that he might be visiting Miami soon too. Michigan hiring Les Miles would help with Dallas.

I also spoke with Kris Frost tonight. He said he talked to one of the Auburn coaches this evening, and is expecting a phone call tomorrow from Gene Chizik. The phone call tomorrow will be when he finds out if Auburn accepts his commitment or not.

He said he was really upset when Michigan decided to fire Rich Rodriguez. He also said it's looking like Michigan may be out of it completely. The coaching change took a lot out of him, and he's not sure where they stand right now. It's obviously tough for Michigan because no one can call him right now to talk him out of it. We'll see what happens.

...the HC annoucement is made and Stoops or Malzahn or Gruden or Patterson starts his recruiting push, the last minute commits he achieves will seem all the more amazing given the loss of Hart and Frost (and perhaps Crawford and Goudis).

/We must hit rock bottom before we can achieve the greatest heights.

I hit rock bottom when I decided to be this program's wingman and took the fat chick home from the bar last night. I thought the world was ending due to this whole coaching search. I woke up this morning and realized the opposite, then had to ditch a fat girl before breakfast....... not an easy task! I took mine for this team, now find us a coach Brandon, you dipshit! ( still a little bitter about the fat chick)

So if we has kept RR we would have had: Hart,Frost,Lyon, and the rest of the recruits would have been solid. Also if we got a new DC, with all the freshmen coming back the defense could have been 2011's Denard in terms of improvement........hope DB knows what he's doing.

If that is the case, might it not be possible that the team was reacting to all of the negative things being said by the fans and the media as well as the very real feeling over the final month that a coaching change was inevitable?  They are, afterall, largely 18 and 19 year olds who tend to, you know, be reactive emotionally.

If DB would have said after OSU that RR was going to get a achance to coach throughout his contract, the atmosphere and mentality leading up to the bowl game would have been different.

"Tony Posada and Dallas Crawford both said they will "most likely" stick with Michigan. That most likely is their way out, so it's not 100%. Dallas is being actively recruited, so that's something to watch. [Ed. He did say he was "solid" on Facebook today, FWIW.]"

The use of "most likely"...kinda implies they were looking for a way out and now they got one....why would they want a way out?

I've read on various sites that at one time there were 4 silent commits to Michigan.  I've learned that Frost was one.  Could someone enlighten a newbie (you say howdy, I say hi) as to who the other 3 possibly were?

Thanks.
