TomVH: Quick Terry Richardson Update

Submitted by TomVH on
I was told yesterday that Cass Tech DB Terry Richardson will be announcing next week. It sounds like it's not set in stone, so I'm going to double check. It could move to a later date, I'll let you know what I hear.

Lloyd always seemed less snake oil and more of the methodical, pro-active and well planned recruiting approach.  I'm sure there are exceptions, but it always felt like most of Lloyd's recruits were signed, sealed and delivered even before the OSU game let alone January.

At this rate, Hoke will have the class assembled and ready to go before the season is over, which should also mean that he got the men he wanted.  He's certainly doing something right.

Or is it just...

THE MATTISON EFFECT®????

I'm a little bit surprised by this too. But when I went through those commits, the memory of sitting in front of the computer 2 straight Friday's (before going out of course) and getting back-to-back commits from Roh and LaLota, RR did recruit early more than I had re-called too.

I think our perception was created by 2008 when he went all insane near signing day.

Yes 2 points to Magnus for looking to dot the i's and cross the t's.

Anyway, what I was getting at is that I wonder just how many kids Hoke still wants and where he anticipates to find these #'s?  5-6 defensive lineman, 3 DB's, 4LB's, 2TE's and possibly another, 1 QB, 1 RB, 1-2 WR, 5-6 O-lineman. This equals 22-26 spots. B10 limits us to 25 I think but still.

I dont know where this info is for sure clarified, but with grad Sr.'s and 3 kids that have left so far: Vinapol, CC, and probably DJ Williamson who isnt listed on the roster my count is 19. Now that would seem to indicate that Hoke is planning on several more transfers or not renewing several 5th years. Not sure about my 19 though.

He said he was supposed to announce at the UA game next year I thought.  IF he decides to commit next week, it has to be so they can prepare for Harrison and win states.

Their schedule got tougher, they got moved into a lower division of PSL and probably will play Catholic Central in week 2.

In case you didnt know this is a forum (BLOG) for people who like to talk alot about all things Mich Football. Recruitng and scholarships is a big part of that. If you dont like that conversation sorry, but thats the way it is. I like to talk about and know a little more than the casual fan who catches a game on a Saturday.

You have posted the same post about "available scholarships" and "squeezing out fifth year players" in at least 4 different places in the past week eMo. We're still over 8 months away from this recruiting class signing their National Letters of Intent, let alone 15 months away from the class starting at Michigan, and you're trying to get groupthink on whether Brandon Moore and Terrence Robinson are going to be let go before their fifth year.

Don't act like the existence of an Internet forum justifies you repeatedly asking about things for which there are no answers for a year or more, or for issues beyond the control of anyone posting here. Be better than that.

In a conversation about recruiting, there is nothing wrong in trying to find how Michigan will exceed 20+ commits.

Every year, we're given a small number, but are told the class will be 20+, and every year it balances itself out.  There is nothing wrong in trying to figure out on how that will balance itself out this time.  I enjoy the breakdown.

If you're going to speculate about worthless nonsense, just continue doing it at whatever board you came from. I'm sure they're a lot more interested than we are.

This place is getting bad enough as it is......doesn't need to get any worse.
