TomVH: One Last Time

Submitted by TomVH on
I apologize to everyone that sent me congrats and well wishes that I didn't respond to, but I wasn't able to comment at the time. I have accepted a position with ESPN and will still be covering Michigan recruiting. I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and help along the way. It's bitter sweet to be leaving MGoBlog, but I'm excited about what's ahead. We're moving to Michigan this week so if you see me around say hi. If I don't get around to thanking you all I'll just say thank you here. We just got back from South Carolina for a friend's wedding yesterday, moving truck is coming today, and we drive back to Michigan for three days on Wednesday at 4am.

I was thinking more Three Dog Night - One (Is The Loneliest Number) or Air Supply - I Can't Live

<br>Seriously though, thanks for everything Tom, ESPN will finally have some stellar recruiting on Michigan. You are the equivalent of a 5 star number one recruit in the nation to them and everyone here, good luck even though you won't need it.

Tom for everything you have done for us.  I hope to see you around A2.  Although I do not like ESPN at all, maybe I can find a way to "like" them.

You have done a wonderful job and your efforts appear to have "paid" off.  Congrats and Go Blue

Good Luck with ESPN.  That is a great Gig!

Scottsdale to Ann Arbor - both great places.   Maybe you can keep your house in AZ for the winter and stay in A2 for the fall?

I applaud you for the way you have always shown class when dealing with high school prospects and respecting their wishes to not go public with info at a given time.

Best of luck.  We are keeping the signal though.

I was going to say the same thing Tom, always appreciate your class in dealing with recruits. IIRC, during Kaleb Ringer's recruitment, some Ohio newspaper douche let his commitment out of the bag against Kaleb's wishes, and even though the newspaper printed the story Tom still wouldn't say anything more than that Kaleb had some news. I then had a light-bulb-ding-in-head moment and realized how good we have it with Tom on our blog(!) for free(!), who has more class and respects recruits more than journalists at regional newspapers.

Thanks again for all of your content and hard work Tom. I really think your idea to be the recruiting guru here helped push MGoBlog to the next level, as reading your interviews and even your quick updates on recruits on here has made us have that connection with the players that we didn't have before you got here. Not that Brian doesn't do a fantastic job entertaining me with his content, we just didn't have the guy talking to the players and posting on here almost daily at our disposal like we did after you came and that is a big part of what makes MGoBlog so unique as a blog. What other university has a blog where you can get SO MANY FREE, actual interviews with players? I don't believe there is another. Thank you for that, man, and I will definitely follow your career at ESPN. Good luck Tom and welcome home to Michigan.

Thanks for everything Tom.  Appreciate all you did for this site.  Just remember to conduct a proper Black Widow search before moving into the home.  As I'm sure you will, even in Michigan.

Best of luck to you.  Hope you keep up a vibrant twitter account.

Reading your updates has always been a highlight of MGoBlog, and I look forward to your contributions at ESPN.  Good luck with your job and your move back to AA.
