TomVH: Matt Snyder to Nebraska [Updated:] 42 reasons to come still said no

Submitted by JohnnyBlue on

TE Matt Snyder tweets he will sign with Nebraska. Was pursued by Michigan recently.

So does this mean Hello :Clark and Wheatley? The timing of both Pickard and Snyder are rather odd if not, since both guys would be better served and seemed to want to go to Michigan over the schools they chose.

With so many whiffs so far, what is the better choice at the end of the day: to send out more schollies for '15 until all spots are filled or save some for a larger class next year as there is a possibility of more time to recruit quality players?

if you can get a kid that will contribute even if he isn't a stud you need to get him this year.  I beleave next year will be already bumping up against the 25 I could be wrong though, so can' bank many.  depth will be rought 2017/2018 the way it is.

EDIT

Just checked 26 JRs  that will be SRs next year, most we could "bank" is 2 and thats with no more attrition off the SO/FR classes which is prolly going to happen.  We will prolly sign 28 kids next year regardless of how many we get this year.

Roster has 9 open scholarships and 13 seniors.  Even if a single player isn't added we are looking at 22. Assuming a few more players sign on and there is some attrition we are looking  at a class for 2016 to be in the low 20s.

Edit: I see now. The 26 Juniors for 2015 will be seniors in 2016 so they have nothing to with the size of the recrutiing class for 2016. If scholarships are banked in 2016 and rolled over to the 2017 class that could be cause for concern.

We'll see how convincing JH was to the recruits. Even if we do come up short, JH has enough talent to coach here to have a good record of 9 wins. Next year JH will be kicking ass on recruiting! Overall, I think we will get 3 or 4 more recruits on or before NSD!

Harbaugh came in with only a month to recruit. He will pour his heart and soul into all things that are Michigan football. He will do whatever is necessary to beat the scum from the state down south. No matter who we have on the depth chart.

We will be just fine.

We need to have at least 5 more commits  to keep the roster "healthy".

CB: we may get one (Damon Arnette is as good as Buckeye-bound);

TE: any of Clark or Jr. will be great;

DE: not sure if we get any;

OL: with rumors of more departures we need more body.

LB: not seeing any target

May be we have a couple  of Norfleets lurking somewhere in the MAC country.

I love the speculation when a kid commits somewhere else. Maybe he just didn't want to come to Michigan. It's very possible we fall flat on our face for 2015 recruiting... Will this blog be alright?

to conclude that things are more promising for the high end recruits because other guys are committing elsewhere. I want the class to be as good as everyone else does. Most freshmen are not likely to contribute anyway.

2015 is what it is.  It seems to have had the wheels fall off over a year ago when Harris bailed.  After that, it seemed as if nobody really came on afterwards (Weber, sure.. but remember that he was  seen as a big step back)  Then as things came undone, so did this class.

I have no doubt that this class will be better with Harbaugh pulling in guys than it would have been with another coach or if they gave Hoke one more chance.

2016 will be VERY interesting.

Next week, I'm taking a very, Very, VERY, not-so-very similar vacation.

Instead of going to Northern Michigan, I am headed to the southern tip of Baja Mexico:  Cabo San Lucas.

I plan to watch signing day at Cabo Wabo and The Office in flip flops and shorts with 80 degree sunshine.

I'll send updates and reactions from our neighbors to the south through a fog of Cazadores and Patron.  Stay thirsty, my Wolverines.

I'm a little concerned heading into signing week, but we get what we get.

JH just didn't have enough time.

If we can pull Clark, Weber and Wheatly Jr count us lucky.  I think we might get lucky with Smith the LB from Georgia - he should be able to smell playing time.  We need athletes like him on the second level of the D.

recruiting element and to me that was enough to save this class.  Yes we got ourselves a really good QB which is the most critical position and the one most would agree where we lack most depth.  I think the team can will be fine even if we only add a couple more recruits.

Pics or it didn't happen...unless he wanted to wear #42 (because Clark wants to wear #8.) In which case, it MAY have happened, but pics will still be needed to verify exact number of correlative reasons for each respective recruit.

I hope our WR recruits were given more than 1 reason to attend.

I sense a lot of negativity/panic here. I am not worried about Matt Snyder signing with Nebraska. I've been following Michigan recruiting very closely and barely heard of this guy before. Michigan will end up with some quality players. And we have Harbaugh now. It will be okay.

Spelling it "Liqwid" really skeevs me out. Sounds messy and gross. Being located in Cleveland only makes it worse.

Now, if you said YOU were at LlikQuidd on South Beach, I would still say "Quit drinking, and go to bed".
