TomVH: Matt Frazier Update
Illinois OL Matt Frazier is making a trip to Ann Arbor this weekend, to watch the scrimmage on Saturday.
Frazier is a 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman.
He told me he doesn't currently have an offer from Michigan, but they are very high up on his list. He's only spoken to Coach Frey once, so he's hoping to get to know the coaches better, and see the facilities up close. Matt was invited up for the Night of Champions, but couldn't make it, so he decided to come this weekend instead.
He's receiving interest from most of the Big Ten, Notre Dame, Arizona, Boston College, and a few others.
As always, there are highlights for your enjoyment:

the OL class in illinois is quite strong this year for D1 talent

Yeah, this is a pretty good year for o-linemen in general, I think.

I am not sure if it is because of more "elite" OL as normal years or if it is mostly just how deep the class looks overall. Either way definitely hoping ND restocks this year

Irish-I am hoping they remain as coached up as they were under Weiss.
well he will have had 6 lineman drafted over 4 drafts, is that bad? I hope we keep sending them to the pros.

then our timing is good as we need a good class of OL

Michigan, arizona, plus the regulars. Maybe the coaches knew they would have many more options this year than last. Makes last years class of one seem semi-logical.

I believe this was a point made elsewhere (Brian I believe) when discussing why we only took one OL last year. Apparently coaches thought correctly that this year's OL class would be deep.
Matt Frazier looks strong (to my untrained eye). Hope he gets an offer, especially as he has a moderately strong GPA to boot.

Lots of linemen seem interested or highly interested in us this year.
