TomVH: Devin Lucien Update

Submitted by TomVH on

I spoke with Cali WR Devin Lucien (6'1", 180 lbs, 4 Star) today, and he has set his decision date for January 30th at his high school. We talked about all the schools that are left, and Michigan is in excellent position. He says it's down to Michigan, UCLA, Kentucky, ASU, and Colorado.

A positive for Michigan here is that he and his family are not concerned so much with who the coach will be, but more so if his scholarship offer will still be honored if there is a new coach. His family sees the value of a Michigan education and what the program has to offer. Lucien will be visiting next weekend on the 7th as well.

Mike Martin testing the NFL waters and Tate Forcier being ruled ineligible for the bowl game don't qualifiy as real news stories? Haha, not everything on here is worthless CC stuff, but I guess I see where you're coming from. It's tough to differentiate these days. Finally, here is some GOOD news!

Nice to hear that Devin isn't concerned about the coaching situation.  Hopefully by the time he considers signing, though, that won't be an issue.

i go to cass tech games and sit with the former coach of many CT players (Royce, Taylor, TRich) and try my best to "be next to him" after the game when he speaks with them.  i try to throw things into their conversation like... "you'd look nice in maize pants". I'd think what I do is weird.

Lucien didn't have a lot of offers early but his senior film has really caught a lot of attention.. Michigan seemed to offer him at a really good time.

Kentucky fans are confident but Lucien seems to really hold Michigan in high regard, and the caveat is he hasn't visited yet.
