TomVH: DE Jordan Jenkins Offered

Submitted by TomVH on

Georgia DE Jordan Jenkins (6'3", 233 lbs) was offered by Michigan today. Defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery called him and offered him. Jenkins has 13 offers now including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and South Carolina. I'll have his quotes in the Weekly Update on Monday.

Here's his junior film.

Not that I see anything wrong in offering a kid with those caliber of offers, but we seem to be offering a lot of DEs. I haven't seen much on WRs and other areas of need.

Did we offer this many high level prospects at this time (or any time) last year? I just may not have noticed it, but it seems like this year everyone that we offer is an elite level prospect; its nice to see.

Will not comment on last year - the past is the past.  But I like the observation on this year.  WE SHOULD offer the best and brightest that fit with Michigan.   If we truly believer that we are a premier program, we need to offer premier talent and try like heck to recruit them and coach them up.

let's not all start sucking each others dicks yet.  We've put out a lot of offers to elite guys, but it's not like we've seen commitment after commitment (not that we should expect to see many at this point).  Last I checked, we're a year away from signing day,  and there's a possibility that none of these guys end up blue.

I'm as excited about the potential this new staff is showing on the recruiting trail as everyone else.  I just think people might be getting ahead of themselves with the comparisons to the prior staff -- we haven't even seen a full recruiting cycle out of Hoke/Mattison & Co. yet.

Hey Tom. Any news on possible offers to DT Jonathan Taylor and his friend who is a DE/TE out of Georgia? I watched their film and although they both looked great Taylor is an absolute beast and apparently they are interested in Michigan and a package deal (which i know falls through sometimes but thats a different topic). I was just wondering where you thought Michigan stood on these two and what are chances are of getting them to even visit or even commit if offered? Thanks

Any new news between Michigan and Bam Bradley, I'm curious as to why everyone thinks we have such a good shot with this kid Bradley as well, because everything I have read so far says he likes Michigan State more than us right now...not even bringing tOSU into that comparison. Any information I'm missing?

As for my own personal information... thought i would let you know that I have heard from a strong source that Jordan Diamond is really enjoying his Ann Arbor trip so far and getting to know the team and some coaches well. I still do NOT expect an early commitment as I have explained earlier.

As always thanks Tom for keeping us updated
