TomVH: DB Blake Countess Offered
Maryland defensive back Blake Countess (5'10", 171 lbs, 4 Star) was offered by Michigan today. This via his twitter feed:
Good Day, Momma always said good things come to those who wait. Got a call today from Michigan.#offered
I'll have more on him in the weekly update, but here's his highlight video as well.

4 star db? Yes please
November 5th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
Im salavating thinknig about the corner situation in a few years being Cullen as a senior on one side and a junior Countess on the other.
November 5th, 2010 at 9:08 PM ^
I just saw 'junior', 'senior', and 'corner' in the same sentence and thought I died and went to heaven.
November 5th, 2010 at 9:10 PM ^
Well next year its probably going to be 5th year senior Woolfolk and junior Floyd manning the CB positions.
Speaking of Cullen, I dont recall seeing him on the field much lately. More Avery and Talbott action.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
I would not be surprised to see Woolfolk at deep safety when he returns.
November 6th, 2010 at 10:27 AM ^
Byron Moore...please come on down. I'd like to see TWolf stay at corner.
November 8th, 2010 at 1:51 PM ^
any news on Byron Moore? Adding him and Woolfolk next seaosn would be great. Maybe better if we can get him on campus for the spring right????
Watching effective safety play in the Bama/LSU game made me a little sad, but a playmaker at that position could be the single most important pick up in our defense.
November 5th, 2010 at 9:42 PM ^
Well played Sir!
November 8th, 2010 at 1:49 PM ^
yeah, it does read well, doesn't it. I'll take 2!
November 5th, 2010 at 10:54 PM ^
if we just became his instant favorite after offering...then he's not really a 4star.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:08 PM ^
I see why you have -120 (and counting) points.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
morons that know nothing about football don't like reality.
i guess.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:35 PM ^
So you are telling me that you know more than the morons on the recruiting sites that ranked him a 4 star? You are not only annoying but dumb. Great combination.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:40 PM ^
no...smart-guy...the coaches at the big time programs that haven't been offering him know more than the 'morons' at the recruiting sites.
use your head.
and shut up.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:44 PM ^
Michigan, Arkansas, GT, Stanford, Pitt, UT, UVA, WVU, Wisconsin, among others.... Yea, everyone is ignoring this kid... He should probably be a 1 star
November 5th, 2010 at 11:49 PM ^
no, based on those 'powerhouse' offers, he should probably be a three star...which is probably what he actually is.
since when do big east, acc, crappy sec, wisconsin and jake ryan-u offers make someone a no-brainer 4-star??
ps - stanford offers everyone decent that qualifies there, and only follows up on a small number.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
I forgot that the only good players are those who've been offered by Florida and USC. It is inconceivable that a 4 star player might not have an offer from "powerhouse" schools. But maybe you know more than all 3 major recruiting services that have ranked him as a 4 star prospect.
November 5th, 2010 at 11:57 PM ^
yup, me and the coaches at the real powerhouse schools that recruit maryland - florida state, miami, etc.
November 6th, 2010 at 12:04 AM ^
I'll give you one guess for how many players from Maryland are on either FSU or Miami... It starts with Z and ends with ero... I wasn't aware that a player's star ratings were determined by who has offered him, and not his ability. Thanks for setting me straight hombre.
November 6th, 2010 at 12:08 AM ^
I am guessing he won't answer that. He is too busy trolling and getting kicked off the site.
November 6th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
good guess virgin
November 6th, 2010 at 2:36 AM ^
LOFL!!!
November 6th, 2010 at 12:11 AM ^
his star rating obviously have nothing to do with who offered him, but it's a good indication of how good he might be. id trust coaches with NC's over rival our scout "experts" on a players ability. i think that's the point. everybody take a deep breath....
November 6th, 2010 at 12:15 AM ^
wow, someone with football knowledge. what are you doing here?
November 6th, 2010 at 12:21 AM ^
If a player isn't offered by one of college football's elite, he isn't deserving of a 4 star rating, and/or he doesn't have potential?
November 6th, 2010 at 12:28 AM ^
if he doesnt get offers from great teams, than no, he probably doesn't deserve a 4-star ranking. and...i didnt say anything about potential, you did. lots of three stars - like calvin johnson once was - have very very high ceilings (along with lower floors).
the point is that an offer list says much, much more about a player's talent level than some website idiot's opinion of him. those guys evaluate players for their livelihoods(sp?). website idiot's just evaluate them to get boners like you excited.
November 6th, 2010 at 1:15 AM ^
"website idiot's just evaluate them to get boners like you excited."
Football guru AND master of the English language? Color me impressed.
November 6th, 2010 at 1:37 PM ^
one misplaced apostrophe is surely worth ridiculing. why does everybody act like they're masters of the english language on this board? i love this site and yes it bothers me when people misspell "their" "there" "to" "too" or whatever. it happens, everyone makes spelling/grammar mistakes from time to time.
and im not saying bleuadams isnt being a bit of a dick- but shit man, it's like you guys are completely closed to what his actual point is when in reality, we've seen proof supporting parts of it for the last few years. hence, "the decimated defense" and the fact that not all highly rated prospects pan out.
and btw- nobody's a recruiting expert here. its just people with opinions.
November 6th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
omg, another person with a brain, what r u doing here!?
November 6th, 2010 at 2:41 AM ^
Calvin Johnson was a 4 star and 37th ranked player nationally...hardly a 3 star!
November 6th, 2010 at 12:14 AM ^
#1) if you actually just took the time to look through both teams entire rosters to settle an argument on a message board - you are a fa****
#2) even if that's true, it's more a reflection of MD football sucking and there not being many players from that state that are even deserving of powerhouse offers. If someone from the Virginia/Carolina area is a 4-star, florida powerhouses get involved.
November 6th, 2010 at 1:33 AM ^
The #1 player in MD, a five star, has an offer from Miami and no one else from Florida (in case you didn't know, that would include Florida and Florida State). I can't believe every school in Florida isn't recruiting him. The #2 player, a high 4 star, has 0 offers from any Florida school. The #3 and #4 players also have 0 offers from any school in Florida and are both 4 stars.
I would also like to add that a couple years ago, Miami coaches came out and seaid they did very little actual recruiting and mainly used rivals and scout ratings to decide who to give offers to. Great points douchebag.
November 6th, 2010 at 3:19 AM ^
This has been fun bleuadams... we should do this more often. Totally worth the 10 points I just lost on you.
November 6th, 2010 at 3:21 AM ^
and when I say lost what I really mean is... totally worth the joy it brought to slam that "down arrow" each and everytime I saw another post of yours.
November 6th, 2010 at 3:27 AM ^
jesus fucking christ. maybe i was wrong about the florida shit. who fucking cares. the point is - this kid doesnt have any great offers. none of those offers are great. if he was a great player, he'd have better offers. he's not a great prospect. if he was, he'd have great offers. maybe he'll commit to us and end up being a huge sleeper. but if he is successful, it will be to the surprise of a lot of REAL recruiting coordinators.
im glad you faggots were able to continue having fun with this conversation while i was off fucking my beautiful girlfriend :)
November 6th, 2010 at 8:21 AM ^
So by your backwards logic every recruit at USC, Florida, Bama, etc. deserves a 4th or 5th star due to the mere fact that school was interested? What a thoughtful analysis - you're talent analysis skills are rivaled by those of only Matt Millen.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:21 AM ^
youre fucking stupid.
November 9th, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Wow you are a loser
November 6th, 2010 at 1:13 AM ^
guys he sure told us. everyone knows florida state and miami (ntm) are better than wisconsin and stanford. psh.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:23 AM ^
youre a fucking moron. shut your fucking mouth. its hard for stanford to get recruits who qualify. they offer almost everyone in the country that does...and then only follow up on a small percentage of them. and florida state and miami recruit twice the talent wisconsin does...its just undisciplined talent.
November 6th, 2010 at 9:01 AM ^
Bleuadams, please leave the board as you are a complete and total idiot. Everyone on this blog is now dumber having read your posts...I award you no points, and my BO have mercy on your soul. The real question is, why have we not offered this kid sooner?
November 6th, 2010 at 11:24 AM ^
wow, what an original burn. go fuck yourself you lame ass herd-following piece of shit.
November 6th, 2010 at 1:22 AM ^
November 6th, 2010 at 11:26 AM ^
awesome post. super funny. so glad u got ur mgopoint for it.
seriously,
what a faggot u r
November 6th, 2010 at 10:09 AM ^
He is a UM fan? Or maybe he only has offers from the south and wants to go north? There could be many reason that we would jump to the top of his list.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:25 AM ^
yeah, namely that no one good wants him.
November 5th, 2010 at 8:51 PM ^
I hope he has a 99 Injury rating. I'm just sayin'.
November 5th, 2010 at 8:58 PM ^
but an ACL ain't one.
November 5th, 2010 at 8:52 PM ^
Gotta catch em all.
