TomVH: A couple quick updates
Instate TE Ron Thompson told me he'll be at Michigan tomorrow.
DT Danny O'Brien will be at Michigan's camp tomorrow. Danny says he's going to come out with a top five soon.
Ohio FB/RB Alden Hill was told by the coaches today to call them on Wednesday. He's expecting an offer based off of his camp performance. It wouldn't surprised me if that was what they wanted to talk about. I don't know if he would commit on the spot, but I know he really enjoyed his one on one time with Coach Jackson at camp.
Might be something to look out for on all three accounts, we'll see. *I posted this in the comments, but to make sure everyone sees it, I'm not implying anything here. We'll see if any decide to move.*
I was also told that 2013 OL Chris Fox is most likely a candidate for an early offer after his camp performance. I would expect an offer to come out for him very soon.
I think O' Brien will be a tennessee volunteer.Hate to say it but I just have a gut feeling.
There's only one gut - and that's Sam Webb's gut.
Mike V is a loud mouth clown. I ignore him, but I like Terry Foster most of the time.
Valenti and Foster are both ass-clowns... worst tandem of sports-talk radio I've ever heard.
How radio hosts who have such contempt for their audience, continue to get ratings. You would think people would have had enough by now.
Just joking, but what makes you feel that way, when O'brien is saying they are no longer his #1. The coaches have been cooling off on O' brien. But it looks like they have turned up the heat and he may have been waiting for that the whole time. I think he goes Blue!
I actually like MIke and not a big fan of Terry; however Mike does think he is a new york maffioso boss.
Dyslexia acting up again I presume?
you may be dyslexic...
Tom, Any idea how long Wilson will take to make a decision?
Any news on Sheldon Day? I haven't heard anything on him in a while.
For the record I'm not implying anything in this post. I was genuinely saying it might be something to watch out for. We'll see if any of them decide to do anything.
DAMNIT CRABLE!
Ron Thompson, Danny O'Brien and Jarrod Wilson this week? I am dreaming and it is good.
That would be great too.
Blake Bars? Is he deciding this week?
There is a post on Rivals about him possibly making a decision soon but it is behind a paywall. Here is the link.

I'm just saying.
on rivals and his offer list is underwhelming. I think Pitt and Virginia are his best offers. This page could be way outdated though. I am just wondering what other notable schools are offering. For whatever it's worth.
If we offer him then it looks as if it would be as a FB. Honestly, I don't think offer lists matter too much for a FB. If the staff thinks he could do the job, and since it appears they want a scholarship FB, then by all means lets take him.
PItt usually produces good RBs and FBs and his other offers are good as well.
him committing and that his offer list is whatev because he's a FB and whatnot. I'm just wondering what other big schools have offered him that aren't listed on rivals (and you've got UConn, Pitt, and ...yeah). The only (only) reason I'm asking is because it's been mentioned a couple times, not that it means a ton or anything in this case.
This is not a good enough reason to offer him, but it might help us land Dymonte Thomas next year.
I think Hill looks like he could be a good fullback and short yardage guy.
I like the versatility Hill provides. We're already recruiting a fullback or two in this class (Fatu), and our best shot at a true tailback, Dunn, is still technically commited to OSU. I know he doesn't have the sexiest offer list and the recruiting sites aren't enamored with him, but Hill ran an 11.00s 100m dash this past spring as a HS Jr. Source: Here. At 6'2'' 220 lbs, thats moving. If Hill jumps on board, we add possible depth at tailback and if that doesn't work out, he can fill the fullback need Hoke and co seem to want anyways.
Now i'll completely undermine everything I just said and question the timing of the offer, if it comes Wednesday. Why not ride the OSU shitstorm out and see what happens with Dunn? With his offer list, it seems like Hill would go Blue regardless of if the offer came tomorrow or in December. I've had similar questions with other offers--Gant vs Morgan, Olsen vs Diamond, Banner, etc. Then again, what do I know.
I concur with every single word you just said. Not that it matters, but I didn't feel like upvoting you was enough. I wanted you to KNOW that I agree with every word. Especially the part about offer timing re: Gant, Olsen, etc. Who knows how things would've shaken out with Morgan and Reeves had we held off on the Gant offer (and part of me really really thinks that we offered just because he's a legacy). And this whole OL mess is just ridic. If Bars, Keenan, and Olson all want us what, we're going to say f-off to Kalis, Banner, Garnett, and Peat? That's just unbelievable to me.
"WE" don't want Alden Hill? Let's let the coaches decide who they want and cheer for every guy that accepts an offer to play for Michigan.
is like weird.
<br>
Did I do that right? Or is it just /?
It's the first one: "/s".
I smell new recruits.
If we take Thompson, you think we will hold off on WR? I mean, 2-3 TE seems a bit over the top, unless they look to move someone to WR. I know it has been discussed, but still wondering.
As for O'Brien, we are definitely surging. The question is which DT will pull the trigger first.
I don't think there's a problem taking Thompson at all. We'd really be taking 2 TE's, as Williams is 1/2 TE and 1/2 OL, and Thompson is 1/2 TE and 1/2 WR.. (/s)
But I don't think that would stop us from taking Stanford, if he warms up to us. Things seem to have been slowing down with Burbridge (haven't heard about him in a long time), so I'd be good with a class of Thompson and Stanford..
After watching their tape Funchess is the one who looks closer to a WR.
Funchess is kind of 1/2 WR and 1/2 TE. Between him and Thompson, we'd definitely have some pretty tough characters catching passes. I just don't know if we'd still need a true WR though . . .
EDIT: got beaten to the punch by two mins, so I'll just have to agree with the poster right above me . . .
I actually am curious about Burbridge. I assume his grades are back for his junior year. Tom, if you read this, any update on his status?
I have a bad feeling that Hill will commit as soon as he gets the offer and take one of our D-Line spots
We were planning on taking a FB anyway...We wouldn't have offered three of them already if we weren't...
I have a good feeling that Hill will commit as soon as he gets the offer and take one of our RB spots.
The guy's a fullback. We need a fullback. He's also fast, which means he could even fill a RB spot if we need him to.
...out.
Damn it, Shoe, I was about to go to bed. Now i gotta stay up..
Is it weird if my heart is fluttering in anticipation?
Let the random name throwing out begin for at least five or ten minutes.
My guess: Charles Woodson's eligible long lost twin brother who also goes by the name Charles Woodson has named Michigan his #1.
Since it is a interview, it has to be a diary right? I'm going to commence hitting refresh for the front page.
Not a diary, on the frontpage.
It's an interview with Kalis.... It'd be hella sweet if we landed him.
This turned out to be a special thread.
Where we can afford to be very very picky...I'm sure the coaches understand that but something tells me we are going to take a few 3 stars soon at the expense of some 4 stars. But hey, this is why the coaches get paid the big bucks, stars don't concern them, hope it pans out.
