TomVH: Chris Wormley Update
I shared this on my Twitter page, but for everyone living in 1998 I thought I'd mention it here, too.
2012 Ohio DE Chris Wormley will be at Michigan's fan day tomorrow. He doesn't think he'll be at the U Conn game though.
As noted before with Chris, Ohio State has shown him illegal amounts a lot of attention so far, so they're in the lead. I talked to him tonight and he had this to say about the situation.
Ohio State has shown me the most love so far, so they lead. Anything can happen in two years though. I'm probably going to wait until my signing day, so I still have a long time to go. I still root for Michigan on Saturdays, and I'm a fan of them, so we'll see.
We will see indeed.

Thank god we can finally get him on campus. It was such a drag following recruiting rules while OSU was courting him.

I'm just wondering if kids like Chris realize that osu is probably guilty of recruiting violations with all this attention osu shows them. He must not if osu is his #1. Just another reason I hate osu and their 325 self-reported violations and why the NCAA is bs.

instead of vice versa, they are violating NCAA contact rules.....
High school Freshman and Sophomore year. these rules also apply until September 1 of your Junior year.
Coaches are allowed to:
Send you athletic or sports camp brochures, NCAA Educational Information and Questionnaires.
A coach can also accept phone calls from you as long as they are at your expense but remember that if you leave a message on an answering service the coach isNOT ALLOWED TO CALL YOU BACK.
Coaches are not allowed to:To call you on the phone.
A coach cannot send you any written recruiting information.

no that was his freshmen year in 2008, this one here is from 2009. He looks a lot better in this clip. Still too short of a film clip IMO. Just look at the physical attributes though. In one year he grew and inch and put on 25 lbs. Imagine how much better he will be after his senior year in HS. The kid is a beast already, and only stands to get that much better.

We're mad and jealous.
This stems from reports that MIchigan's staff has told him to expect limited contact from them as they follow the rule book to an absolute T with the NCAA scrutiny. While others, including OSU, will take advantage of the various gray areas in the rules, we're telling recruits--or at least this one--ahead of time to expect not to hear from us as often as we would have in the past.
Basically, we're saying those gray areas we uesd to manipulate like everyone else, we arent because of the NCAA investigation and we're telling recruits it doesnt mean MIchigan isnt interested.

....the report has nothing to do with the kid, it amazes me that you are that obtuse not to realize that OSU has a pattern of breaking NCAA rules in recruiting. Actually it doesn't amaze me. You are an OSU fan. It goes without saying that you wouldn't get it or that you'd turn a blind eye to the fact your beloved team cheats when it can.

At this point, I shouldn't be consistently amazed that UM fans can willfully misconstrue facts. Yet, they do. I guess that says a lot about me. Let me spell it out for you:
None of those violations are significant. OSU over-reports like nobody else, precisely because the perception is that the program is dirty. Do you really think it's a BFD that Malcolm Jenkins says that he hopes that Seantrel Henderson goes to OSU? Of course not. But it makes nice print, and it riles you guys up and gives you hope. So we'll have it your way: ignore the actual facts on a case by case basis and the nuances of the facts in general, and paint with the widest brush you possibly can. Congratulations; I hope it takes the sting off the past 3 years.
For a forum and fanbase that is supposedly smarter and more considerate in their approach to football, sometimes you guys really can't see shit for the way it is.

The problem is that none of us can judge just how important the early attention is to these recruits. If, in fact, osu or UM, has ended up landing a recruit based on early attention, which may have been an "insignificant secondary violation", that is actually a huge deal.
What is in fact worse? Years and years of secondary violation stacked up, or a major violation of stretching too long? Or punishing a player for, god forbid, skipping class? The fact that 375 violations amounts to jack squat to the NCAA is mind boggling.

Do you know what actually gives me hope? What gives me hope is the complete and total knowledge that Rich Rodriguez is picking up the pieces of this storied program and stocking it with hard edged physically prepared players. That and Denard Robinson. That gives me hope.

Malcom Jenkins making an inappropriate comment isn't a big deal. Good thing there's so many other examples in that article of OSU being dirty.. Like this:
