boom goes the dynamite!!
TomVH: Bri'onte Dunn Update
But even the fact that their top commitment is publicly wavering is awesome. Whether he comes here (which I certainly hope) or goes somewhere else, as long he walks away from the cheating cheaters down south and possibly starts a tidalwave of doubt in the minds of other recruits/commits then rock on.
for "cheating cheaters".
Boom goes the Dunnamite?
*cue madatory Lloyd Christmas "so you're saying there's a chance" clip*
Well, that's good news because I'd say both of those things have a pretty good chance of happening.
this post makes me scream like this
Fantastic news, my understanding is that Bri'onte Dunn is a perfect fit for a MANBALL offense.
Is that from the movie, Coming to America?
Americas Next Top Model
I'm Ashamed that I know this
It's your favorite show...
No. You don't need to know where that came from, though.
I can feel it comin' in the air tonight...
What would his list look like and how would Michigan figure into that top group?
5 star running backs that decommit from OSU... sounds good!
5 star running backs that then commit to Michigan, even better.
And that's the big one
I was wondering about Dunn when the news of the NOA broke. I really hope we can get him on campus and the coaches can work their magic.
Lets hope Hoke can make this a Dunn deal.
how long until his recruitment process is Dunn?
My OSU buddy informed me that Tressel Dunn messed up.
Dunn Dunn Dunn Dunn Dunn, big tressel.
Dunn ask for whom the bell tolls, Jim Tressel; it tolls for thee.
Dunn Dunn Dunn
Jimmy Tressel made an oopsie, Dunn Dunn Dunn Dunn Dunnnnn
Wow! That would be an amazing get. I think it says a lot who is going to be looked at very closely in his decision if he is visiting here this quickly.
And get it over with. All of his recent movies suck ass, Ace 1 and 2 are still two of my favorite movies ever, and you know he could still play this part in his sleep.
I think he is ready to jump ship, just a matter of when,
In the immortal words of Larry the Cable Guy " Git er Dunn" Cheap I know but I just couldn't resist.
Let's just hope that this opens up the floodgates. The longer Tressgate drags out the better IMO. Let 'em bleed out.
hammer and lose out on scholarships and get their wins vacated from 2010 along with a bowl ban. i think we just won the chris wormley recruiting battle as well because i dont think he's enjoying the Tatgate
Are there any others who could be swayed towards the good side? I was thinking Ifeadi Odenigbo, but it seems like ND might be higher on his list.
Hopefully he will take a visit to Michigan and commit. Then his recruiment will be Dunn and over with.
Hope he makes the trip Saturday up to AA and get things swaying our way !
That is awesome. I don't know how the staff knew that his recruitment was shaky when they started recruiting him, but it looks like their efforts could pay huge dividends. He would be perfect for this offense, and the power.
It goes with out saying, but how huge would it be to land Dunn? F-ing huge.
Obviously we don't know where he'll go to school, and typical caveats apply about anyone who hasn't played a down of college football, but this guy looks like he could start next year.
He's definitely gonna start next year. We'll see about when he gets to college, though.
Even prior to things getting so bad for Tressel Dunn was saying he was going to visit Michigan, though he hadn't made it up yet (I don't think).
I'm no scout, but this kid looks like a true impact player in his highlights. He reminds me of Chris Wells to some extent.
Even PRYOR to things getting so bad for Tressel Dunn was saying he was going to visit Michigan, though he hadn't made it up yet (I don't think).
Get this kid on campus! Nothing sweeter than a 5* RB that decommits from OSU & goes BLUE(Like they always tell you in sales, be assumptive)...I also heard that a certain Chuck Woodson will be in AA this weekend, maybe he could bump into Bri'onte & explain the legacy of outstanding Ohio players in UM history...
Hey Tressel...Should never gave them playas money....Fuck yo couch
We'll see if they can get a visit set up. I don't know if he'll pick MIchigan, but I can tell you that some of the commits have already said they're going to start recruiting him. This class is intent on recruiting really good players to come with them to Ann Arbor.
It's not only possible that we have a better class than OSU this year, but that we have a better pull from Ohio than OSU does. Ringer, Williams and Stacy so far with Wormley, Bolden and Dunn possibly on the way...
All we need is Adolphus Washington saying how he really likes Maize and Blue.
Washington is starting to notice Michigan. This is paywalled but he says he is liking the coaching staff and will consider Michigan, here's to hoping.
I'd settle for Pittman, in the event that Washington ends up elsewhere.
Thats definitly one of the major positives of having kids commit early-it will be crucial to get Godin on board may 12th to get in O'brien and others ears.
Does this mean the MEGA CLASS is still in play?
I love it when a class helps recruit itself. Great snowball potential.
Hair Dunn, nails Dunn, everything did...
Oh you fancy huh?
"Hot stuff, comin' through!!!"
YMRMFSPA Kevin Grady?
(Except, you know... less fumbling, and hopefully less dumb shit)
I've watched longer versions of his highlights and I think he has better vision than Grady. I also think he's more agile...I'm no scout, coach, etc., though.
Dunn looks a little better in the hole than KG was. Of course, I'm comparing Dunn to What-We-Thought-Grady-Would-Be-Like Kevin Grady.
I can also see Magnus's A-Train comparison. Hell, I even see some Biakabatuka, with a touch of Tyrone Wheatley.
I immediately thought Wheatley. He runs high and hard, and has those trunk legs that make him look like he's running slower than he is (and which defenders peel off of).
Grady was more of a bowling ball whose body weight was close to the ground. I might have said Barry Sanders at the time. Course at the time if you said 5-stars I was a panter.
come to A2
I never watch a recruit's highlight video until I think we have a chance. Having just watched his, damn this kid is a must get.
Has there ever been as many GIFs in one thread as there is in this one?
Sometimes meltdown threads have more also.
Would love to steal a Buckeye recruit.
If i Dunn switches to us and if I had roller skates, I would do this.
Awnaw! Hell naw! Tress. Y'all Dunn up and Dunn it!
This gives me great hope.
With all the depth Michigan has at running back, there are only a few tailbacks worth taking this year...
...and Dunn is one of them.
He really, really, really reminds me of Anthony Thomas.
I was thinking Eddie George but we'll go with Thomas.
I can see that a little bit, but Eddie George ran kind of high. Dunn seems to have a little more body lean, which is a big part of my comparison.
Magnus, I like the A-Train comparison. He really does look a lot like him, build and everything. My initial thought was Eddie George because of the stride. Either way, I would LOVE to see this kid in Maize n Blue.
video clip, and though i didn't look up his size, height or speed, yet, I gotta say that he looks like Anthony Thomas Jr. Even the way he cuts. Maybe a little less stutter at the line of scrimmage that what Anthon started with, but wow, remarkable.
Just watched a video of his highlights and I couldn't agree more with the A-Train comparison. This just makes me want him to come to Michigan even more. We NEED to get this kid to Ann Arbor.
But the way the depth chart plays out, and considering in state recruits next year, I'd rather get a big time RB and a lesser QB this year than the other way around. I mean, if I can only have one.
I imagined what recruiting could be like if we win 8 or 9 games this year and michigasmed all over my laptop.
With the Ohio situation/recruits...what if we pulled off the OSU game somehow?
I died a little with happiness right now. I desperately hope we can get him on campus and work some magic. Mattison could just be like "oh, you know Ray Lewis? Yeah, we can teach you how to totally run over guys like that. Think that'd help you in the NFL?" I also think it's great that the commits are so eager to help recruit for UM. Since some of them are from Ohio, hopefully they can talk him through their thought processes and help him end up with the same conclusion. Also, much Denard smiling is needed.
Rivals no longer shows him as a verbal to OSU.
? porque????http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1067547.htmlbehind a paywall on scout there is an article about dunn reaffering his commit to O$U
EDIT: Rivals just revised again and now lists him as a soft verbal to OSU with "medium interest" in us and "no interest" in anyone else.
wow, check out that run at 4:34, he just looks angry. this is like a seasons worth of highlights, but its all one game...crazy
That is the first game tape I've actually watched of him... He is pretty impressive and thats against Massillon which is known for being awesome in football.
Nice, but I'll believe it when I see it. So much has fallen through the last year so, like the soft commits (Frost) from December, Zeke leading the mega class to Michigan, Cullen becoming the next Woodson, that I would approach this with caution. Who says he doesn't recommit to OSU, or doesn't go play in the SEC.
Frost wasnt a soft commit, and whoever said Cullen Christian would be the next Woodson should never be trusted again.
I'm not saying you should get your hopes up for Dunn, but it's not all gloom and doom, either.
Was a silent commitment.
You're allowed to be a little optimistic when a 5* RB from our biggest rival is decommitting and visiting us.
Maybe he ends up here, maybe not, but this can't hurt in any way.
So, you haven't realized that almost everything in recruiting is hyperbole?
he is explosive, has great vision, and takes atleast two tacklers before he goes down. I would say that he would fit perfectly into the new offensive system.
I am glad to hear the news that TVH says that the current commits are trying to pull in some more big-time talent. Who needs Pike to bring in a mega class when you got Stacey and Ringer. Correct if I'm wrong but didn't Stacey help recruit Ringer???
Apparently they say Dunn debunked it and says hes all in for osu on bucknut and osu scout board. The general sentiment on their boards is that they're stacked at RB and that this is a rumor with a couple saying uh oh.
Lets see what Hoke can do.
That is all!
Just to be clear, I wasn't the one reporting the decommitment, an OSU website is. Like I said in the post his dad told me they were watching everything and that they wanted to visit Michigan. That's my report, so I don't know if he's reopening his recruitment or not.
ohio's reign of terror is soon to be DUNN. Think about the O 3 years from now if we get him along with our super TE class. It will look a lot like Harbaugh's offense at Stanford this year provided we land Morris who could be our Luck. I cant wait to have a team that just bullies our opponents all over the field.
Does anyone know anything abotu 2013 ATH Amani Bass out of Lumen Christi? Is he anywhere near as good as Antonio and where do we stand with him?
He hasn't de-committed from Ohio St and hasn't told anyone he did either. He apparently really enjoyed his visit to the Ohio St. Spring game last week too. A Michigan visit is still in the works and after that hes not planning on seeing any other schools at the moment. This is all coming directly from him by the way.
You don't burn your bridges until the time is right. Dunn will keep a leg in each camp until he decides which way the winds blow.
Let him see how awesome graduating in the Big House can be and you'll have him Hoked in.
This would be a HUGE get for Hoke and Co. Come on Hoke make it happen for Go Blue Nation!!!
Wow this kid is a beast.... He looks 6 stars to me... Can see him running behind Chris Bryant and Jordan Diamond hopefully
So I definitely have faith in Tom but over on scout they have an article saying Dunn is still committed despite rumors he isn't. Is this info by them just wrong or did he maybe say he's still committed but looking at other schools?
well Tom did talk to the kids father so I am going to believe that over a recruiting website - and plus TomV can't tell a lie (he doesn't wear a sweater vest)
There are doing a far better job then anyone could have imagined. They are going down swinging with every recuit they offer. I cant wait until this team wins 9-10 games here soon and the recuits start pouring in.
what I have been really impressed with is the willingness to go after the big recruit. They haven't held back with big time recruits thinking they wouldn't be able to land them which I think is promising for the future. Hoke and Co. have done an outstanding job on the recruiting trail up to this point.
I think the class winds up ranking somewhere from the 10 - 15 range this year (although it is way to early to make a realistic perdiction). If Hoke and Co. can win between 9-10 games this year then I would expect to be looking at a Top 5 class for 2013.
Not to mention going right into a MSU feeder and plucking away all their talent. Close relatives of mine go/went to MSU and they are now starting to get pissed.
"We are big ten champs, we should have a top 10 class." lol
The folks on RCMB were thrilled to hear about this until they discovered he might be heading to A2. At that point the reaction changed to "that would be even worse than going to OSU".
I didn't watch the entire highlight video, but I don't see the speed that Wheatley had. His running motion is very reminiscent of Anthony's high-stepping.
It would certainly be a milestone in the UM-OSU recruiting wars to steal him from the Buckeyes. Seeing as how Signing Day is 10 months away, the way our respective seasons are going to unfold will probably have a great deal of impact on where he signs. I don't put much stock in verbals any more, especially if they're given a year in advance.
It'd be nice to have a solid stable of competent, hard hitting running backs. Between him, Hopkins, and Thomas Rawls, I'd say we'd be on our way to establishing a pretty tough running game.
And of course, there's always Dilithium.
Sign him up, coach!
It's always nice to hear good news
OSU is in the midst of a PR nightmare, and I can't see the end of it anytime soon. At least there wasn't a statue built for Tressel yet.
Take that Tressel!
he is a strong runner, but know way he has the deceptive foot work Touchdown Tim had, that being said, obviously we need premier RB's and you take him, no questions asked.
