"The face of the operation is Briatore (referred to exclusively in the film by his colleagues and angry, chanting detractors as "Flavio"), an anthropomorphic radish who spends most of his time at QPR plotting to fire all of the managers."
Six times is gd impressive!
gets Sextuple +5. Impressive, sir.
A sextuple post, on the heels of the great sex anaolgy of the day. Now I have seen everything.
I think you are trying to make a point about how MSU fans didn't care about getting recruits because of our impending sanctions? Or am I way out in left field on this one?
Unless he got it from her.
Look at Tom Stroebel's comments about why he never considered Michigan. Kids in that state are often indoctrinated with ideas that we're a terrible program, a boring place, etc. Can't blame them for needing the truth about the biggest professional sports team in their state to come to light before considering us.
You mean how schools took kids who didn't want to go to UM and play for RR in the past 2 recruting seasons?
We aren't talking about a guy who would fall into our lap because he had no other good offers. This kid could go anywhere. He'd still have to want to come here an awful lot to commit.
We have a chance.
I think he is saying we have a chance.
nooo... more like 1 in 1,000,000. I love Dumb and Dumber, but I hope Lloyd Christmas is not an indicator to our chances with Dunn. Would love to see him in that winged helmet!
This is turning out to be a great July.
It's been a great start to July which followed a great June which followed an awesome May!
I overstated it Tom.
I am sure it is an issue for him. But with the NCAA sanctions become less and less likely to include harsh bowl bans, I thought our chances with Dunn were getting less and less likely.
Like you clearly stated (and I didn't clearly state) it appears like my presumption is not totally true.
Why have the NCAA sanctions become any less likely? OSU replied and the NCAA hasn't said anything yet.
from everything I have read it seems most out there feel OSU went extremely easy on themselves with their self-impose sanctions and feel the NCAA is going to give them at least 1 year bowl ban but more likely 2.
I know it is the NCAA and you never know until itis over, but to say it is looking more likely that they won't get a bowl ban seems a little misguided at this juncture IMHE.
i dont know if he has any credibility, has said he has decommitted from OSU and is now recruiting for Michigan.
Who is the "he" you're referring to? If it's Dunn, I highly doubt it if Tom MFing Van Haaren just talked to him and was told otherwise.
Inspired by my own post, I will now refer to Tom simply as "TMFVH" from now on.
Aye's have it.
sorry about that i was just posting what i saw on twitter, probably shouldve put a FWIW in front of that.
Was it the Ace Williams clown?
it's some guy named brady_hoke4real. he's followed by a couple credible sources, like our own Brian from Mgoblog.
This may not sit well with some and i was a huge skeptic at first myself but this Ace clown has been accurate so far..i have to give credit where its due
Buckle up, bitches. Shit's about to get real.
How great would it be for TomVH to say those exact words
It can't hurt that now he has Kalis and his cousin Dymonte in his ear about UM. Did Thomas get an invite to the BBQ? They could come up together.
I was just watching ESPN's College Football Live and they had a spot on Kalis' recent decommit from Ohio and commitment to Michigan. To paraphrase Kalis, he said "OSU is a great program and I wish them the best, but I don't want to be punished for something I didn't do". Those same thoughts must be going through the minds of every single one of their recruits.
Is that all he says? Does he mention loving Michigan at all? Because if that is case, and the NCAA goes crazy and doesn't tack on additional penalities, should we worry about Kalis decommiting in the future?
He had great things to say about Hoke. And if you're going to worry everytime a recruit/commit does an interview without mentioning loving Michigan, you're going to lose your mind.
Re: decommit. Not likely. He's most certainly burned the bridge with OSU and he could have waited and visited other schools. Instead he chose Michigan. Another thing about Kalis is that the WOTS is he didn't like decommitting. Not to say he regrets his choice, just that it isn't something he wants to repeat. With him also recruiting other kids to Michigan, it's safe to say he's solid.
It sounds to me like Brionte and his Dad are doing a good job surveying the situation at both schools. With the talent Brionte has, he should look at the schools that can showcase him in the next few years. And I would think Michigan would be up there on the list with the offense we're going to be running. And obviously, he can't ignore the Nuking the football program at TSIO is going to get shortly. Things are looking better all the time!
as its not anyone from the Big ten other than us.
what usually happens in these situations. do the courts get to actually see what exsists and decide for themselfs if it falls under FERPA or not?
whenever I see "TomVH:" I chub up a little bit? Oh yeah, now I remember.
At some point your love of a school is replaced by your career best interests. Who are you going to run behind? 100 yard rushers make espn highlights.
It's like a poster above said...he wanted to go to MSU his whole life but they didn't offer the program he wanted so he had to go to UM (he did clarify that it was the best choice he ever made).
My point is many times in life you have to do things that didn't quite fit the plan you laid out for yourself growing up. Choice of universities is one of those that often changes. My family all went to the same university (except my brother and I) and from the time we were kids we loved that university. The problem was when it came time to go on to med school the one our family loved didn't have as highly a regarded medical school as another we had applied to. Both of us chose the better school because it was better for us in the long run. We still love the other school, but just didn't attend it.
These kids are fans of OSU but I think most (perhaps not all) are smart enough to understand that they need to make a choice that is best for them in the long-term. They can go back to being a fan of OSU once university is over and they are in the NFL.
He's Chris Perry AND Anthony Thomas....BUT FASTER!
Cosigned: Fred Jackson
A lot faster straight away and more athletic? Look, I'm not saying A-Train was the fastest RB we ever had, but I haven't exactly heard anyone raving about Dunn's speed either. Saying he's "a lot" faster is a stretch. Anthony Thomas was one of the best backs his senior year, and one of the best M's ever had. Let's not go overboard.
Agreed, I watched every carry that Thomas made at Michigan and he was always a threat to go the distance when he got the corner.... and was never caught from behind. Dunn's speed looks OK from highlights but not overwhelming.
This is getting down right comical. The kid is coming to UM, I can feel it. We have half the studs in OH recruiting Dunn for us now. Not to mention his cuz Dymonte is in hear ear all day about UM. I'm not sure who could honestly argue the fact that there's more opportunity on and off the field in AA for him. He has less competition(manball) than at TSIO, and he'd be coming in with an undeniably stronger OL class that at Suckeyeville (one of the best ever?). How can a RB not consider this SERIOUSLY? Brionte and his father seem to be pretty bright, you can bet this is being discussed. That's what Tom means by factors other than the bowl losses. We're clearly the better choice for Dunn now, it's just a matter of time.
having their dreams soiled by JT and TP. Trying to focus on school is hard enough for a freshmen, asking them to step in this shit storm is just over the top. IMO, not a tough decision especially once they visit AA.
1. No NCAA santions
2. Early playing time
3. Our 2012 class is loaded with good OL
coming to UM instead of OSU seems kinds of fun, it fact, i seems sort of cool
Your post has rendered me speechless.
Yeah! That's what I'm saying.
if Dunn were to decommit. But this sounds like great news. Michigan could really use a big, physical, talented back like him in this class. But, if we can't sign one, then wait until next class? Are there are any other good options beside Dunn?
