TomVH: BBQ Update
I thought I'd create a thread for this just to do a mini update for now. The BBQ is from 11-3 today. Some recruits area already there, some are still on their way.
Here's an updated list of visitors that I have confirmed. Caleb Stacey sent me a text saying he decided not to go because he has two a days tomorrow, and he was likely going to be Kaleb Ringer's ride so he's not going either. Not a big deal, but Ringer sent me a text that said he would have really liked to hang out with the recruits.
Monty Madaris isn't coming, so my note about Michigan having the potential to get a wide receiver soon will probably be pushed back. I'm not expecting anything out of Chesson today, but visits can sometimes change things so never say never. He told me he would still like to take some more visits. Michigan is in good shape with both Madaris and Amara Darboh right now too, so we'll see how everything plays out.
There is potential for a few things to happen today. Key word is potential. There is a chance with Pipkins, Wormley (don't be surprised if he doesn't do it today), and 2013 DB Dymonte Thomas said he's thinking about things. I wouldn't be surprised if he waited, but he did tell me that he really likes it at Michigan so we'll see.
I'm also not expecting anything from the other 2013 kids. WR LaQuon Treadwell told me that he would probably wait if Michigan offers him today. He want to talk it over with his mom first. Wyatt Shallman said he's also likely going to wait awhile before making a decision.
Like I said visits can change things either way, so none of this is 100%. We'll se what ends up happening.
He will finalize his commitment on or after National Signing Day, 2012. At no other time is this possible - no gut call is needed, and Tom is not the man who gets them anyway.

Dunn would be an amazing get. Not to mention the meltdown that would happen in Ohio!

Possibly but this year and last year are vastly different for a defensive recruit. There is really no uncertainty in the coaching situation, new buzz around the team and even more so with the defense and we have Mattison plus Hoke's amazing ability to point.
I would love to see Pipkins and O'Brien become friends and go to the coaching staff together and ask if they would please accept both. That would be nice in my mind full of little feel good stories.
Only if they hold hands while walking over. How could you say no to that?

The BBQ was so successful it pulled in a top-100 basketball recruit.
All we need now is a Defensive Tackle, a defensive-minded left wing, and a balance beam specialist, and this will be a pretty successful day.
I don't see Dunn committing today, he hasn't officially de-commited from ohio. However, that would be bad ass if he just committed to Michigan anyway. I still don't see that happening though. Unfortunately my gf is yelling at me and I have to go shopping so I will be glued to my phone on this shopping trip. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the 1 WR, 1 OL, 1 DT portion for sure. With the other two spots I don't see them taking a QB since Morris is on board. I would say WR/RB or DT/RB to fill in the last two spots. In a perfect world, with the 5 remaining spots I would like to see Diamond/Dunn/O'Brien/Pipkins/Madaris. I think the class will be filled up by the time the higher ranked prospects from out West have a chance to visit Michigan. I suppose that's a good problem to have though.
