I'm merely pointing out that's it's not right. He's going to leave USC, make a ton of money, and be no worse for wear. Meanwhile, the current players will lose their head coach and possibly be excluded from post-season play.

You're right about the effect on current players. If any sanctions do come (which is still speculation, and I personally doubt will happen) it punishes the wrong people. Brian's write up on the USC basketball program at TSB made some great points about the subject.

he would kind of be crazy to go. However, Carroll's situation is a little different then most colllege coaches that go to the pros. Carroll already has been a head coach in the NFL. He won a division title with NE in 1997 and made the playoffs the following year again with NE. He knows what the pro game is about. Did Saban have much experience with the pros before he went to Miami? I know Spurrier played pro football but he had been in the college ranks a long time before he took a shot at coaching in the pros.

is he will be coaching all his former players. :) All kidding aside, why would he ever leave that sweet gig at USC besides if there are violations? There seems to be no HUGE job has that less pressure in CFB than his, plus I'm sure USC would pay him whatever he wants. UF, ND, OSU, OU, UT, UM, Bama, LSU all the big boys I can think of seem to be WAY tougher jobs than Carroll's. The Mora firing sure seems premature, if not even a little fishy. The Seahawks brass must have a plan/tenative agreement already in place to replace him with a superstar type guy or this firing really is out of left field.

i think that the only way we dont get baxter is if a coach he really liked from a school that wasnt quite good enough for him takes the job... is that riley?
