TomVH: Antonio Richardson Update

Submitted by TomVH on

This somewhat happened by accident, but I was talking to OL Antonio Richardson (6,6', 305 lbs/Tennessee) who is the seventh best offensive tackle in the country. He has offers from basically all of the SEC schools, and Notre Dame.

I asked him about the Notre Dame offer, and if any other schools to the north were recruiting him. He told me that he has gotten letters and communication from Michigan and Ohio State. He hasn't answered them back because neither have offered, but he and his dad decided that they are going to get in contact with both schools.

Antonio also told me that there's a chance he might try to make it up to a Michigan game this year. Nothing to get too excited about right now, but if the communication gets started up and continues, it could be something to watch. He's a monster obviously, so we'll see what happens, just wanted to give you the heads up.

Tom,  do you have any info on Charles Jackson.  I was browing remaining DB options out there, and came across his profile.  He lists Michigan as high interest, but I've heard very little chatter on him.  Is this someone the staff is pushing hard for? He's a solid 4 star on all 3 major recruiting sites and a position of need, so seems like a good get.

We need OT depth BADLY.  After this year, we'll have just 4 OTs on scholarship, and one will be a senior.   The fourth will be a freshman that desparately needs to redshirt.  So, in essence, we'll have 3 OTs to work with.  Both Posada and (if we get him) Chris Bryant will be guards even though both are listed as OTs.  I don't know if the coaches would consider moving Omameh out to tackle where many have projected he has the highest upside, but I doubt it considering the other young talent we have there.  So, in other words, we need a highly ranked OT like this to come in and be ready to contribute in the two deep from day one.
