TomVH: 2012 QB Demitrious Davis Film

Submitted by TomVH on

I just got done cutting the film for 2012 QB Demitrious Davis (5'10", 175 lbs) from Austintown Fitch. He will be at the Iowa game this weekend with his twin brother Chris (#22 in the film), RB Will Mahone, and S Luc Haupt. The Davis' father loves Michigan, and they do too. They will be giving some game film to the coaches this weekend.

The film is for the first 5 games of this season. I'll have Chris' done probably next week.

Is he projected as a QB or Slot at the next level?  Though I know we don't need tall QBs, and certainly Denard is not a giant (at least height wise), he looks a bit too short to play QB at the next level.  Thoughts?

Both brothers look to have very good acceleration, #2 more than #22. Also #3 looks to be a good player, especially creative with YAC. As for a QB at the next level it I just can't see it

A brother-to-brother combo would be pretty cool.  His motion looks a little like that of ex Michigan QB Steve Smith.  With a minor tweak or two from the coaching staff, he could turn out really well.  And, of course, there is always the chance of moving.  The great thing about ex-QB's is that they tend to see the entire field, whether they are on offense or defense.

It gives them a edge no matter what position they play.

that Fitch has had in 20 years.  They, along with Youngstown Boardman are the two largest schools in the Ytown area.  Boardman just sent 2 guys to Ohio State last year...not surprising considering Boardman is where Mr. Tressel lived for 15 years during his time at YSU.

If we could get an in-road at Fitch, it would give us an in at 3 of the 6 big time schools in the Ytown area:

Warren Harding*

Austintown Fitch*

Youngstown Cardinal Mooney*

Youngstown Ursuline

Youngstown Boardman

Warren Howland

But he needs to add some strength in the passing game. His throws (depicted) were accurate but only one was a "long" pass. In addition, the short passes lacked that thing called "zip". I won't pretend to be informed enough to pass judgment as to whether he has the potential to increase his arm strength to an acceptable level or not.

He and his brother both look like they could find their place in our offensive set. The other person #3(wide reciever) on offense also looked really good IMO, seemed to have speed and made excellent cuts. I would take the three of them!

Speed is always nice to have on the field, whether it is on offense or defense.  Whether they project as a WR or a safety, we can always use the speed. Speed can always help make up for someone who is out of position if they can make a break on the ball and make a play.

ok so i was just googling Davis to see what colleges where interested in this kid and came across this and i signed up to fix many errors that were made

1st

TomVH, the Davis Familly are not michigan fans, at least the Twins arent they love Ohio State and Va tech i have know them both personally for about 10 years now, whoever told you they liked michigan, was probably said because your a Michigan guy and they didnt wanna rub you the wrong way they are a good familly like that

2nd

Davis is a Legit 5'10 if not he's 5'9

3rd

it will be hard for Davis to play DB at the next level because he's never played it before, there would be a huge learning curve, WR would be better but Davis was MVP at a Next Level camp for QBs that included Cardale Jones from Glenville this past summer

4th

Austintown Fitch plays in the Fed league which is one of the toughest confrences in all of Ohio,id say top 5-10 and but there schedule was 13th out of 32 D1 Ohio playoff teams due to 2 weak OOC Games

5th

This year was NOT Fitch Only good season in 20 years, in 2004 they went 9-2 losing 1st round to Cleveland Glenville, this year they finished 10-2 losing 2nd round 41-0 to Solon who may have their best team in school history

6th

if you should get the Twins and Mahone, it does NOT in any way shape or form mean you will open up an In-Road Annerella (the HC) is a HUGE Tressell Supporter, and Austintown is in general a HUGE Ohio State fan community as well is the school (along with Norte Dame unfortunatly) as is Boardman, Canfield, Hubbard, Ursuline and Cardinal Mooney and somewhat Poland which are some of the best teams in Youngstown

now on to Davis

Meetch (as we call him down here) is a very dynamic player and would accell as a QB at a D-1AA school or lower he doesnt have a canon for an arm, but its not weak either his range is about 50-55 yards, he runs a legit 4.37,  and he steps up in big games, he had over 400 total yards and 5 TDs vs Poland who was a playoff team in D2 and vs Lake he had almost 300 yards Rushing and about 150 Yards passing, who is also a playoff team in D-2 and in the regional Finals, Meetch also led the team to its best offensive season in school history leading them to 427 Points in 11 games

he was injured in the final regular season game of the year with a shoulder injury, he didnt return for that game but he did play next week where Fitch won 42-35 in Overtime, but he also got a serious leg injury in that game that made him miss this past weekends game in which Fitch lost 41-0

Davis was this years Federal league player of the year, he finished with 28 Total TDs, and 2,077 Yards of Total offense, Both school records for a single season, he came 2 TDs and 1,034 yards away from breaking every Rushing and Passing record in school history

Austintown Fitch before Anerrella, was always known for their Run game they where always a Wing-T or Tripple Option team and have a good history so dont be turned away when i say those are school records, but dont seem impressive

for Cam Patterson, Fitch 6-0 150 Sr. DB

Led Falcons with five picks. Totaled eight pass breakups. Caught 14 passes for 244 yards and two TDs.

Lucas Haupt, Fitch 5-11 160 Jr. DB

Intercepted three passes, taking two back for TDs, and tallied 51 tackles. Caught 10 passes for 309 yards.

Chris Davis was 2nd team Federal league, Cam, Lucas and Meetch were 1st team, Austintown Fitch had 16 place for league team with the Coach as Coach of the year

Well my cousin's best friend's roommate since like third grade is best friends with both Davis' and he totally has known him longer than you and he says he hates OSU.  So take that.

And even if you aren't completely full of crap, I guess recruits who grow up liking one team never ever go play for (or just might like) a different, and even rival, team - right?

its sad when grown men act like children and cry over something they dont like to hear even when its the truth

Vinopal went to Michigan because it was the best school to offer him, what else did you expect to happen? him to stay home at Youngstown St? LOL @Bleedingblue

and i also NEVER said he wouldnt play for Michigan dont put words in my post son @rockingloud

Hey FitchFalFan thanks for the luv...

Just wanted to clarify a few things bout Demitrious Davis....

1st

Hes NOT a fan of OSU his sis goes there but he isnt a fan. He doesnt hate OSU, but he really doesnt  care for them.

2nd

He has played DB, maybe not in the last couple years but hes played it plus hes a QB dont you think they are the best for the job since they can read the offense.

3rd

He does have a GREAT arm however our offense is more designed for underneath routes...5 to 15 yrd routes. So thats why you havent seen any long passes. Every long pass hes thrown has been for a TD this year.

4th

Last but not least. His knee injury is NOT serious. He had a sprain. He had to sit out round 2 in the playoffs  but he was able to return the week after had they made it that far.

So just wanted to clear that up.
