Tomasula to be Fired by 49ers after 1 Season?
According to CBS Sports citing Mike Florio. Jason LaCanfora also quoted. Highlight of the article:
2015 was an abject nightmare for San Francisco, with owner Jed York and Baalke dumping Jim Harbaugh (who promptly turned Michigan back into a national powerhouse without really recruiting anyone) and replacing him with Tomsula.

The Jed York/Jim Harbaugh beef at least partially stems from the former being a domer and the latter being a Wolverine? I'd like to think that.

Is it really worth pissing of your fans, missing the playoffs and tearing down your locker room morale based on a college rivalry? If so, then sure. That parable makes sense.
I like to think it's because the 49ers staff is just horrible and incompetent.

Douchebaggery knows no allegiance.

Au revoir to the Maestro of Mumble. Jim Tomsula! We hardly knew ya!
January 3rd, 2016 at 1:18 PM ^
I agree, except Jim did bring Jake Rudock to AA and he ended up being the perfect bridge to our bright future.

I think the entire Michigan fan base should send thank you cards to York

If they do fire Tomsula after just one season, it's just an admission by York and Baalke that they made a big fucking mistake by letting Harbaugh walk. It makes them look like dumbasses. Or bigger ones than they already are.
It really dissolves any credibility that they've got left, and again, means they're acknowledging that letting Harbaugh go was a mistake.

Hard to imagine good coaches joining that organization now. Same with the Raiders, or the Redskins. Who would go there? No matter how the team performs it'll be a nightmare and you'll likely be fired.
January 3rd, 2016 at 1:32 PM ^
but I think Jim Schwartz would be a good fit.

Raiders and Redskins are actually starting to turn it around now that they have stable QB situations. The Browns and 49ers pretty much it as far as laughing stocks go, unless you want to count Detroit or the Cowboys if Romo can't stay healthy and they can't replace him.

Harbaugh in play?
January 3rd, 2016 at 1:34 PM ^
Oakland still in play guys. Indy will make it tough for Harbaugh to go back to Michigan. Can I have a job yet ESPN?

Stop it. This joke is so fucking stupid. I don't get why people still think they are clever by posting it anytime this subject comes up.

is almost solely dedicated to ripping the 49er leadership. Pretty entertaining.

But I believe this style of reporting is known as "trolling".
And by all accounts, the 49ers staff deserve to be trolled.

I wish I could read it, kawakami blocked me last December 2014.

If they actually do it, where will we go for all that wisdom that came from Tomsula's incredibly sharp mind...
January 3rd, 2016 at 1:56 PM ^
Is that Shakespeare?
January 3rd, 2016 at 2:20 PM ^
Just simply reading the genius of that line has given me wisdom far beyond my years.

Tomsula appears to be an inadequate head coach.

Sucks to be them

I'd say we could hire him but I think I'd rather have Partridge to be honest.

uh, DUH!

At least he'll always have the satisfaction that he was the all-time highest winning percentage coach of the Niners after 1 game.

are stellar examples illustrating the fact that inherited position and privilege eventually and inevitably lead to incompetence and failure.

shocking. I didn't think that franchise valued winning. Just wanted everyone to be happy.
January 3rd, 2016 at 6:14 PM ^
Why fire him? He exceeded my expectations by winning a game.
January 3rd, 2016 at 6:20 PM ^
Is there anybody on that staff that Harbaugh might try to poach? I know there are rumors that we could see another 1-2 assistant coaches leaving Michigan (either for promotions at the college level or jobs back in the NFL).
January 3rd, 2016 at 7:08 PM ^
Dear Jed. Brilliant move firing Harbaugh last winter, hiring this moron who ran off all your roster and now canning him after one year. A lot of people might think you're a moron, but I know you're just following the Red Sox model from a few years ago (and people thought Bobby Valentine was the worst thing you could do to a team!). Now all that's left is to hire the right coach to lead you to the promiseland. Might I suggest an under the radar college coach from a school in Ohio, who's a real up and commer: Urban Meyer. No, that's actually a person's name, not a fusion between two stores. Urban has a good coaching history, but everyone is leaving him to go to the NFL, and I think he's feeling a bit left out. One call from you would make so many people happy, and could get you a good, albeit poorly known, coach for years to come.
Yours in football,
Bacon

York and Baalke are my personal Heroes. I think they are geniuses with the game of football. I caught a piece of the transcript from the Tomsula interview that sealed the deal:
York: how will you continue our incredible tradition in San Fran?
Tomsula: BLUDGEON!!
York: seriously, what offense do you intend to employ?
Tomsula: BLUDGEON!!
York: Okay, you're starting to win me over, but let's talk defense and special teams. How will you attack Seattle and our other division rivals?
Tomsula: BLUDGEON!!
York: I can tell that you're a winner unlike that last loser we hired. He'll fail so bad at Michigan. Anyway, what type of players are you wanting to bring in for your system??
Tomsula: BLUDGEON!!
York: you, sir, are clearly a winner and belong on our sidelines. I'm pretty confident that you'll be the next Belicheck and I'm going to look like a genius for ditching that HARBAUGH douche and hiring a true football genius like you. Welcome go the 49ers, Jim.
Someone send York a gift basket!
