Tom, Tim, other gurus - Recruiting Predictions Down the Stretch?

Submitted by k06em01 on

Christian - he's in the bag.
Grimes - he's in the bag.
Murphy - he's in the bag.

Beachum - he's close to being in the bag, but his mom's an x-factor.

Furman - he says he knows where he's going, he missed his trip, and he doesn't sound too concerned with rescheduling. is this bc he's decided on va-tech already...or uofm already? hard to read.

Knight - also hard to read, missed his trip, but seems like he wants to reschedule.

Jefferson - heard a rumor that we're his new #1?
Shaw - also heard a rumor that we're his new #1? fsu falling apart is having an impact.
Baxter - also heard a rumor that we're his new #1?

Stills - heard that he's warming up.

Ash - these guys, i have no idea.
Thornton
Cornelius

ure such a friggin joke, and so are all of ur buddies supporting u. the argument was whether or not the position could be described as a safety/linebacker hybrid position. that is exactly how the COACHES described it to a player that was going to be potentially playing it. yet, i am still wrong, and you are still right.

Trust me, I don't have a lot of buddies on here. I don't know a single person on this board, and I get negbanged frequently for my unpopular opinions.

Here's some food for thought - a potential conversation between coach and recruit:

Coach: We'd really like you to be a Wolverine.

Jefferson: I'm definitely interested if I can play safety, because that's what I play now and I really like it.

Coach: Yeah...ummm...well, see, we have this quote unquote linebacker position. And it's mostly like a linebacker where you're supporting the run and covering the flat and such. But I mean, you do cover slot receivers in man coverage sometimes.

Jefferson: Hmmmm...that sounds like it might be my style. Do I ever get to play a deep half and then just knock the shit out of some receiver who catches the ball underneath? Or can I ever sit back in like a third and just wait to break on a ball and run it back for a pick six?

Coach: Hey, that sounds great! We would love it if you would do that! The only thing is, well, it's not really a safety position. You won't get to do any of that stuff. You'll play exactly like a linebacker, but we'll pretend that you're kind of a safety, too. Since you want to play safety and everything.

Jefferson: Oh...

If that pans out I would be f'n thrilled. Of the maybes I esp. hope for Furman and Baxter for obvious reasons.

I will admit to being ridiculously, irrationally stoked about Beachum simply for the secondary details that the dude's name is "Big Tex" and he will pwn on 3d and short.

Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but Ricardo Miller's most recent post was "44 days till i enroll at michigan class 2010" and josh furman liked it. I checked, its the josh furman safety. Maybe he's just supporting a fellow football player, maybe not.

As much as i want these recruits to come to Michigan. The phrases "in the bag" and "ours" shouldn't be used. I remember Nick Perry and RoJo being "in the bag." Lots can happen between now and National Signing Day.
