Today Kicks Off 2010 College Football

Submitted by dieseljr32 on

In about 18 hours the first kickoff of the first game will occur at Groves Stadium for the matchup between Wake Forest and Presbyterian.   Although that game may not get you excited there are 18 games that are going to be played.

Two games will be on the Big Ten Network as Indiana squares off against Towson at 7:30 pm, and Ohio State vs. Marshall

There are actually four top-25 teams that are playing today being Ohio State (2), Miami (13), USC (14), and Pitt (15).

I was wondering which game would you all most like to see.  In my opinion I want to watch Ohio State vs. Marshall and Pittsburgh vs. Utah.

Here's the link for today's schedule:

By the looks of it, people in Michigan will be able to watch OSU/Marshall.  To check which game you can see, here is the site:

I am living in OR and have comcast. I have the BTN package, and I was wondering if they will have the BTN alternates when there is more than one game on at the same time?

So when Michigan plays UMass in a couple weeks will I be guaranteed to get the game? Or will it depend on what other games are on.

I'm paying extra for this shit so I'd better get my Michigan!

Hmm.  It's always exciting to have college football back.  But week one never provides any really interesting games.  80% of the powers open up with 1-AA teams.  The majority of the rest play MAC schools or other non-BCS conference teams.

Other than our game with UConn, the most interesting games look to be Purdue/Notre Dame, Kansas State/UCLA and Washington State/Oklahoma State.

Kentucky/Louisville might be interesting.  They have had some decent matchups recently.

Ohio State vs Marshal is definitely the game I am most looking forward to watching but I am definitely going to be watching USC and rooting against Lane Kiffin who I dislike almost as much as Ohio State.... well.... not quite that much but you get the point.

In regards to USC playing Hawaii, is there an NCAA loophole that if you play Hawaii, your team can schedule a 13th game?  I don't know if it's a rumor or if it's true.

Ya thats right I think.

I think they did it as incentive for teams to play Hawaii. Otherwise, people were looking at that trip and saying hell no. Expensive, really wears on your team, and its a chance to be upset because of the time change and because who can focus on football when youre in Hawaii?

It's weird that Minnesota is traveling to Tennessee for this one...this is cleary an upset watch for Minnesota...not a good game for the B10.

Any real games are welcome. TGIfootball season.

From Las Vegas a three-team Big Ten parlay:

Marshall +28.5 (at OSU) -- Tressel plays it close to the vest; Marshall offense not bad

Michigan -3 (vs. UConn) -- UConn can't stop run, UM can; UConn can't pass well enough

Purdue +11.5 (at ND) -- ND wins close one

I'm definitely looking forward to the following games:

Southern Miss v. USC

Marchall v. Ohio State

Pitt v. Utah

Southern Cal v. Hawaii

Three of the four games have teams that have to have a strong start to give them momentum going into the season or the wheels could fall off (USC, Pitt, Southern Cal).

Orson knocked it out of the park with this:

As usual, South Carolina will take your hot and bothered self back to the hotel room for anticipated football action, fail to get it up, and then spend the rest of three drunken hours apologizing and saying how, "It used to work a lot better than this, I promise."
