The other thing with that is that I think a lot of people just didn't get it. With the band playing over the chant, it's really hard to make out the words and by the time you got to that my friends and I (not in the student section) were just confused. I personally didn't get anything after "cocksucker." Unity is more important than length with this kind of thing, I think, and fewer, but more effective, hard-hitting jabs would be best. I think addding "Tressel" would be really good, particularly if you can get everyone to come together on it. You could probably work his name in elsewhere as well, and I look forward to cheering on your noble efforts.

Seems like "Tressel" might be a little redundant given that "cheater" is already there. Then again, he's synonomous with most of the list. But I agree including him sounds necessary, maybe just replace the whole thing with worlds related to him: "Tressel, sweatervest, jim, senator, happy easter, infractions, SEC"

Even though they aren't exactly a hockey powerhouse, it might be fun when tOSU visits...I highly encourage this weekend-scope project! For others, it might be too specific to do the whole list, but I do think adding "Tressel" would be a nice touch given the rivalry and our (Yost's) reputation as awesome.

FWIW, the band plays during the C-YA chant due to pressure from the University, which has been trying to get rid of the chant since I first came here in 2004. They even threatened to revoke everyone's tickets one season. I think that the Swedish National Anthem has to redeem the band a bit, anyway, doesn't it?

and I realize it is part of the game, and the culture and being a student... and my straight-A, honor-roll 14 year old attends the games with me, and he seems to understand that as well.
if you are so offended, seriously, don't go... the university is doing what it can to drown out the chants by directing the band to play over them. regardless, yost is a college setting and the games are well-attended by students who show their passion. duke students do the same exact thing at cameron...
perhaps you'd prefer to attend games where the students don't go, don't cheer, don't get into their team... I think you can probably get seats for EMU's club hockey team and experience what you are looking for.

One reason is my current location, second is I don't want to hear that stuff. You can support your team loudly in many different ways, not just with a curse filled chant. Please are you not supposed to be some of the countries smartest students? Can you not find a way to taunt an opponent in a less "Columbus" type fashion?

Raffle fixer is hilarious especially since it is such a small part of the ohio cheatery. As a side note, ending the chant with whore was really quite effective back in the day. That word resonates very nicely at the end of the chant. Slut was uncreative IMO. Cocksucker is the word that appeared to push the university over the edge. The "c-word" as Red's email called it.
