Tim Hardaway Jr. Interview on Hoopsworld
Edit: Thank you. Here's the embed..
How do I embed in the OP?
I see he wasted no time switching to Nike.
That's not a surprise; his father endorsed Nike for years.
I bet he loves that full court "all- time Offense" drill. Who wouldn't?
Did he say something about playing point guard??
Love the name misspelling in the beginning.
Your avatar is, like, all fancy and stuff. Damn, that's sweet.
He was a great player and I know reporters love questions about how X player might have been overshadowed or Y player might be underrated because he had a superstar teammate, but there's just no way that Timmy didn't benefit tremendously from being on the same team as Trey Burke. He's a great shooter, but if he was the focal point of the offense, he would have been asked to put it on the floor a lot more often and he would have struggled to do so.
I think NBA scouts probably have an excellent beat on his skillset and he'll have a productive career, but not everyone has to be "underrated", some guys can just be "rated".
I like THJ but I just don't think he is outstanding enough at any one thing to become a star in the NBA. He can be a good shooter, but not consistently enough to be a primary long-range threat for an NBA team. He only shot 37.4% from the college 3. He'll need to do at least that well from the pro 3 to be considered a good 3-point shooter in the NBA.
He can take the ball to the hoop and he's a great finisher, but his handle is just loose enough that I think he could be turnover prone at the next level..
If he can get some more consistency on his shot, I could see him finding a niche as a 6th man, coming in and giving a team some nice instant offense. Especially if he can find ways to get to the free throw line.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong and he makes it. There were certainly stretches where he lit it up for us this year. But he only hit 20 points twice in his last 21 games. That just doesn't scream "Ready for the NBA" to me.
I can't start my own thread, but this is basketball related. I came across this in an Mlive article:
Tickets for Michigan's matchup against Stanford will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17. They can be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.barclayscenter.com or, www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000
Thought it would be of interest. I know I'm going.
