I found the Allent Gant question a little odd, has there been any buzz around him?  Maybe I've missed his name popping up in the various reports in the last couple weeks.

Does anyone else listen to these press conferences not expecting to learn a single thing about the state of the team, but instead to just see how coaches deflect, hedge, mince and avoid saying anything particularly useful?  I'm all for it of course as I wouldn't want to provide opponents any informational advantage, but they really are odd endeavors these pre-season press conferences.

I have to imagine that after Drevno doesnt answer the first question about a solidified depth chart that its safe to assume he won't answer others.   Why is it impossible for reporters to come up with questions outside of "Who is going to start"? Literally, three minutes of that video was Drevno saying, "Nobody is out of the running for any position because thats how we get players to raise their game."  It gets me frustrated with the reporters, not the coach to be honest.

is stout as they come.

Actually I am enjoying the relative quiet before the season this year.  As said, the press conferences are just mouthjawing about literally nothing.  Let the hype be about what happens on the field and not fueled by the angst over having survived another 6 months without football per se.

I would much rather watch a press conference after a game but admittedly also I enjoy the "old war stories" that Harbaugh leads the media on at certain times.
