Here's hoping Sanchez follows up with another solid performance.

CHI SOX.

I'm going to do this in every Tigers thread.

I'm going to get down-voted everytime.

Honestly, I like the Tigers, and I like the Mariners as well.

That makes me a terrible baseball fan.  When can we have football?

The only thing the Twins have ever done that has made me smile is make the play-offs, back in 2003(ish) when we were forced to play the Gophers on a Friday night instead of Saturday, and then John Navarre went all hey I'm going to pass for one million yards in the fourth quarter and we are going to win the game.

Tigers are looking solid. Timely hitting, excellent starting pitching, and the bullpen has improved since that stretch of games a week or two back when they imploded.

Oh and a series with Houston coming up soon.

I'm very happy Sanchez was brought back. He has made the starting rotation very solid. One of the best so far in MLB.

And they're on a roll right now. 5 straight games where Tigers starters have at least pitched into the 7th inning. These guys are crazy good. And if Porcello can at least be average the rest of the way, this rotation will go down as one of the best in a long time.

I saw an interesting poll on the telecast the other night: which Minnesota sports team is the biggest rival to their Detroit counterpart (I think the options were Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, Vikings). I'd say the Twins by a longshot, followed by the Vikings, and then who cares? I don't think the T'Wolves or Wild are rivals of the Pistons/Wings at all.

FYI, Coke has been placed on the DL with a groin injury. The Tigers brought up Jose Ortega to take Coke's place. Ortega has been solid in the minors, and OK in limited MLB action last year. His line: 2 2/3 IP, 13 batters faced, 3 hits, 1 ER (a HR), 1 BB, 4 K's. This year with Toledo, he has pitched 14 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 unearned run, with 19 K's and 7 walks.

Eat 'em up Jose!
