and a single in the first, Scherzer is settling down and seems to be into a very efficient mode right now. 26 pitches through 2 innings.
Tyler Collins made a nice catch earlier.
Need to work the count better. They're not making Vargas work for it.
Are we really going to do this all goddamn summer long?
I keep hoping for reasons to like baseball more, but they just don't seem to exist.
Don't click on tomorrow's post.
Early-season day MLB games are kind of a special occasion. There won't be a TIgers open thread 160 more times this summer...unless they are undefeated going into the All Star break.
Well, there might be 160 Tigers game threads. Probably more like 120.
Tigers fans exist, en masse, here. There is little Michigan news from now until late August.
There's almost always a thread on the day's Tigers game. That's fine and a good thing in my book!
There are 15 threads on the board. About 6 interest me, including this one. Can you guess how many I didn't click on?
There are 5 diaries up and 5 I don't care about. Guess how many I didn't click on.
Or, the short version: shut up.
Avila caught stealing? Signals get mixed up?
Mr Kinsler goes yard, his first homerun as a Detroit Tiger.
...to Detroit Mr. Kinsler!
Thank you replay!
But I love MLB's new replay review rule!
How dare you not add "OT" before your post OP? HOW DARE YOU? Have you no compassion for puppies and kittens and 28 pound 9 ounce baby jesus?
But I think I recall that Detroit sports aren't OT...I think. Not sure. I think.
And with a name like CLord, I would expect that you'd at least capitalize Jesus....sheesh.
All pro-sports (not explicitly and primarily concerning former Michigan athletes) are indeed OT per Brian's rules. What you may be thinking of is that pro-sports threads, most especially the ones pertaining to the Tigers/Lions/Pistons/Wings, is one of the few OT topics that are not considered taboo during "On Topic" only season.
As per the norm!
It'd sure be nice to get 1 more here in the 8th.
Scherzer gets into trouble with a lead off two bagger, two strike outs and a fly out later...no problem. Nice job, Max!
first start for Max! Shakey with his command in the 1st, but from that point on totally in control thru the 8th.
Now lets get an insurance run or two and hand it to Nathan in the 9th...
not going as smooth as you'd hope.
1st and 2nd in the 9th, Billy Butler up to bat.
Second walk of the inning. Bases loaded with 1 out.
.fuck
what is he doing.
balk balk chicken of the sea
He balked.
walk off...here we go.
I'm predicting a Miggy lead off home run. That means Nathan snatches the first of 20 wins from Scherzer this year and then Max is forced to resign with the Tigers (at a discount) when he finishes the season with a 0-3 record.
A fan can dream right?
I've watched Joe Nathan pitch against the Tigers a lot of times, and don't ever recall him blowing a save, but today what does he do? Blows a save. Thanks Joe
We got this in the bottom of the 10th.
That was really close, but I would say he's out.
....I was kind of skeptical but am digging it now.
Armando Galarraga weeps into his Miller High Life.
I still LOVE the new MLB replay review rule!
Liking AJ at the five spot a lot... Allows for a lot more speed from top to bottom
Gonzo...hero again perhaps?
