Its not gonna be that good. He has a written statement, and a crowd of soft journalist. Hes looking more like sammy and mcqguire to me. I think he should do what kobe did.

What the h*ll is a Canuck? I know it is somewhat equivalent to calling an American a "Yank", but...seriously, what is a Canuck? Follow up question: Is it offensive to use the term 'Cancuck'? In other words, am I a total DB for even asking about Cancuks?

Canuck is neither offensive nor a term of endearment (at least IME). Something I find far more offensive is everyone adding eh after they say something about Canada. It shouldn't bother me, because doing it only shows their own ignorance. If anyone had actually been to Canada and spoke to anyone other than people west of Ontario, they would know most Canadians don't talk like that. My immediate thought when someone makes comments about the whole "eh" thing is following it up like the guy in clarkies video. To be honest, I have been to many of the Northwest states to medical conferences and have encountered many people using the term "eh" when they speak. So for people to insinuate that it is a Canadian figure of speech is a little misinformed and off base.

I have heard two things abuot Tiger's statement/controlled press conference on Friday. That being said I am not sure if either one is true. First thing was that he chose Friday as a way of stealing media attention from the Accenture Match Play tournament since Accenture was the first sponsor to drop him. Second thing I heard is that the Masters tournament committee has informed Tiger that he must play a tournament before the Masters if he wishes to play in the Masters because they don't want it to be the Tiger show if he makes the Masters his first tournament of 2010. I am not sure what to make of these two pieces of hearsay but both are interesting.

Yeah, I completely agree. If he plays this year it will be mayhem at every tournament. I read something a couple weeks back on ESPN, I can't remember if it was a sportscenter anchor or a golf writer but they said something to the effect of: "3 reasons golf needs Tiger Woods - 1. Sony Open champion - Ryan Palmer 2. Bobe Hope Classic champion - Bill Haas 3. Farmers Insurance Open champion - Ben Crane" We will see I guess...

If he wanted to upstage the Accenture, he could have his conference at about 3PM on Sunday. As for content, I would love to hear him say something like this: "It's been a lot of fun having papparazzi invade my private life; it amazes me that so many of you have so little to do. My private life has never been anyone's business but mine and it still isn't. As for the allegations, I get more offers from "elevens" every day than most of you will ever get from "fives" in your entire life. Do the math." I have a feeling, though, that he will "feed" the MSM the equivalent of baby food this time around. What's really stupid is that any statement he has made so far or makes in the future acknowledging his indescretions are "exhibits" for Elin's inevitable divorce case. Every time he opens his mouth, he is giving her another at least $100 million if not more. This puts him in a strange position. He has to "come clean" to get endorsements again, but when he does, it will make Elin's case a "slam dunk." I guess the old adage that it "takes money to make money" applies here.

I think Tiger is a DB for what he has done, but as you have mentioned, it isn't anyones business but his own. As much as I can't stand the guy, I would love to hear him use your comment for his press conference, that would be sweet.

judge an every day guy with two infant children that cheats on his wife with over ten women in the course of two years? And the private lives of public figures and/or celebrities are not the same as the private lives of everybody else, as is recognized by the difference in the way slander, defamation, and invasion of privacy laws apply to public figures as opposed to those of private individuals. Tiger Woods in not being asked to explain why he did not clear the table, or why he looked at some porn on the internet, he is being asked why he treated the institutions of marriage, fatherhood, and the concept of basic decency and took a massive shit all over them. And why he did so for everyone, including the companies and fans that have given him his status, to see. Tiger and only Tiger brought this firestorm upon himself, and he should be given sympathy for having to answer for it? Please don't give me "everybody is all up in his business." Tiger Woods knew the society that he lived in and did at the time, his actions were reckless to the point of being sociopathic, and he should have to answer for them.

Check his website. His brief "statement" as to his statement says that quote "This is NOT a news conference." The what the hell is it? Why are you doing it? "There will be no questions." Eldrick, it is time to be a big boy and address this thing head on. If you are asked a question that you believe is inappropriate, SAY that you believe the question to be inappropriate, and refuse to answer. IMO opinion, one of the biggest factors as to why Tiger is where he is right now is due to the fact that he has never been forced to take the good with the bad. He has always been beyond reproach, and it has never been OK to question him as to anything. I was a big Tiger fan, and I was hoping that when he finally broke his silence, that the way in which he did it would signify that he was now going to be Tiger the person and opposed to Tiger the entity. This is more of the same. This "nothing conference" or whatever he would like it be looks like he is going to try to preserve the bigger than life type image that partially resulted in this fiasco. Tiger, you are never going to act like an actual adjusted person until you allow people to treat you like one. If this is it, go away. Believe it or not, golf will survive without you.
