I hope they annouse this just before kick-off and then discuss it all game long, that would show just how much strong the the big ten fanbase is and whats important in football than these "once-in-a-blue-moon" teams

Something doesn't add up if Miles is coming here for exactly the same contract that Harbaugh got form the 49ers.

We couldn't have given Jim 5.25 to come here?

Maybe I'm just a homer and have a hard time believing that Harbaugh would pick the 49ers over Michigan with the $$$$ being equal.

Why do we have to have these cryptic weird-ass coaching searches?  Why can't we have a normal one where there is a no-brainer candidate who would be awesome and we get him right away for a decent contract?  Why must we have shitty coaches from Northwestern and Missouri turn us down for interviews and use us to get bigger contracts from their current schools?

Here's hoping it is all over and we can start recruiting again.

As with all Great things in the human realm, which have such power and majesty that their essence diffuses into the Lesser that surrounds them, sometimes their progeny go astray. But when you are  the pinnacle of The Universe, even those who stumble fall into greatness.

The rumor was that JH was offered $5.2m/ year to come to Ann Arbor, so he actually went to the 49ers for less money (not sure how it works out with bonuses).

I didn't want RR to go and I certainly didn't want Les Miles, however if these are finally the rumors that turn out to be true and Les Miles is unveiled as our coach tomorrow - I will never question his loyalty to the program.  He has a great situation at LSU and could easily compete for multiple BCS/ MNC titles there.  If he gives all of this up for the quagmire that is Michigan football, he earns my respect and a fresh start.

There is no better source for accurate info than another overly obsessed and crazed fan bases blog. Especially in this case since DB is the actual poster. He's been on tiger droppings posting anonymously for years.

Its weird that Les would agree to come to michigan when Harbaugh is already the coach. Unless... are you saying that internet message boards are not reliable sources and should not be taken as a serious source of information?

Watching the auburn/oregon game, Musberger said "ann arbor" but I didn't hear the rest and then a few minutes later he was saying that Miles would take the job if offered.  He seemed to be quoting someone but I didn't hear everything he said.  If it works out like the firing did, one of my 8th grade students will break the news to me before it's official anywhere.

Good lord, thank you if this is really happening. I'm totally fine with Les. He's got a proven record at a legit school in a legit conference. He has to make us somewhat better. I wonder how Brian will feel about this?

but im starting to be ok with miles. he's a relatively big name who will help recruiting and he apparently knows how to win. he may bomb us into the stone age with sanctions one day but since he's a mitchigan maaaan, the freep will leave him alone allowing him to cut and abandon anyone he chooses without reprocussion

welcome aboard!

edit: I still want gruden

Michigan officials left w/out a resolution and w/out Miles. Not yes, not no.

LSU AD says they are still committed to having Les Miles as their coach.

What does this mean?

Hey, long time reader first time poster. i don't understand for the life of me why brian and some other people on this board  think miles would be an awful hire. I like everyone else wanted JH but he didn't want us so nothing DB could do about that. HOWEVER with JH off the table, miles is as good of a hire as anyone else we could have gotten. Sure there's other good coach's like patterson peterson mullin ect, BUT after researching miles a little further i think he's the right man for the job, anyone who still thinks miles is a bad coach cus of a few clock management issues should read the the facts listed below.

read this and tell me les miles is not one of the best coach's we could hope to get.

miles record against jim tressel, bob stoops, urban myer, and nick saban, is 10-10 (I'll take a .500 record against those 4 guys any day of the week)

miles is 62-17 overall at LSU over the same time frame myer went 65-15 at FLA, (myer did win one more NC then miles but still pretty close in terms of overall record)

miles is 5-1 in bowl games and has out scored opposing teams 215-87!!!

he's 2-0 in  BCS games!  and how sweet is it that his NC came in the form of beating THE VEST!!!

plus his other BCS win came against ND! i know ND sucks but stiil cool that both BCS wins came against michigan rivals.

miles overall record as a head coach at LSU and OSU (not that osu) is 90-38 not too shabby a record when your playing in the SEC and the BIG 12.

SO EMBRACE THE CRAZY!!!! AND BRING ON THE HATTER!!!!
