This happens all the time, and pretty much every time the responses to the multipost is what the psych folks call "personal attribution" - that is, poster is some kinda lazy loser who won't take the trouble to check.
Since it happens all the time, to lots of posters, it seems safe to say a SITUATIONAL attribution would be appropriate (Brian are your ears burning yet?): that is, there is something about the way the site is designed/operates that makes multiple posts on the same topic more likely.
For example:
1) I'd bet my OSU tickets (well maybe just my Western tickets) that essentially nobody browses onto the second page with any consistency. If you're on the website several times a day, page 2+ will introduce you to essentially no new material at all. If it has fallen on the second page multiposts are what you're gonna get, until human nature changes.
2) I have never found ANYTHING via the search function. Why? Search depends on the precise words I have in mind overlapping with the words other folks use.
All the pissy responses in the world are not going to change 1) and 2). The only thing that will keep such posts from happening is some kinda change in the system. The 'complain to the poster' thing does... not... work.

You are coming of like a petulant child, where no matter how wrong you were you're going to explain to everyone who will listen that it was someone else fault or the system was broke thereby absolving yourself from the responbility of what you did. The system works, so use it and enter Western in the search bar as their title was almost the exact same as yours. (Just more descriptive.)

2) this board is cluttered enough during the season. I could understand if this was 3-5 pages back, but it only takes one click to actually check the second page. Just take your time next time and check it, it will help remove the clutter.
