Tickets for Brooklyn Hoops Winter Basketball Festival

Submitted by GrowBlue on

I'm looking to grab my tickets on stubhub, and it isn't clear to me if one ticket gets you in for the whole day (ie, all 3 games) or if I need to somehow buy a ticket specifically for the Michigan game. Anyone know?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that it's for all three games, as the only ticket listings on either Stubhub or TM are for the "Winter Hoops Festival," not for individual games.

Most of you probably know this, but for those who've never been to one of these one-ticket-for-multigames deals, be aware that once the ticket is scanned you can't exit and re-enter.

So caveat emptor:  In my stupid[er] days, I went last minute to see Michigan at the postseason NIT (Amaker team) at MSG and bought a ticket outside.  The scanning authority wouldn't let me in, looking at me with a knowing smirk but only saying "You can't reenter after exit."  (The seller was probably picking them up on the street as fans tossed them out.)  It was embarrassing, but I went back outside, found the guy in the crowd (he was still there trying to sell to someone else), whispered in his ear that the ticket didn't work, and rather than make a scene and/or get arrested, he gave me my money back.  Went to the box office and bought a real ticket for about the same price ($21 or so), for what turned out to be pretty good seats.

my ticket says "Brooklyn Hoops Festival Basketball Tripleheader" Purchased mine from Ticketmaster quite some time ago.

Also, description of the event below:

The BROOKLYN HOOPS Winter Festival will feature Michigan vs. West Virginia, Fordham vs. Princeton and St. John vs. St. Francis on Saturday, December 15, 2012. The Michigan-WVU game will be telecast on one of the ESPN networks.

This will be the first time that Michigan and West Virginia meet on the court.

Fordham, St Johns and St Francis are all local NYC teams too.  Should be a fun time.

Michigan should have the crowd advantage based on the all the fans that were at the NIT Season Tip-Off.

to see the team live. I had tix to the Pre-Season NIT but had work issues pop up.

I bought tix for this game when it was first announced and got awesome seats (second row, center court) for me and my former college roommates.

Looking forward to cheering for UM live and not at my TV screen for a change.

Thanks everyone! I got my tickets via the UM Club of NYC link (the reserved group seats were sold out, but the discount code still worked for 'other' seats).

Now to decide whether to drive in from CT or take transit. ;)

if you can hop on metro north in to grand central from CT, it's very quick and easy to take the 4/5 subway to atlantic ave/barclays center.  only takes about 25 mins to get there from grand central...

my guess is that would be far more convenient than driving in, street parking can be pretty tough in that area.  pretty sure there is a parking garage close to the arena, but they likely increase rates on days when there are events at the arena.

Tickets are definitely good for all three games. (2:30pm tipoff - St John's vs St Francis, 5pm tipoff - Princeton vs Fordham, 8pm tipoff -  Michigan vs West Virginia).

Check out the club's website for registration and info on the pregame event - 5-7:30pm at the 40/40 club, suite level of the arena. Several special guests expected to be on hand, silent auction with autograhed memoribilia, etc etc.

definitely do your own research on this, but if you don't want to take the train, maybe you could drive up to the Path in NJ?  I would think they have some park & ride lots to park in... you should be able to take the path to WTC and switch over to one of the many subway lines that go to the barclays.  might be a short walk from the path to the subway... no idea if faster/easier....
