Ticketcity Cactus Bowl/Friday Night Drinking Thread

Submitted by 1of12MattDamons on

For the last game of the night we've got a BIg12 - Pac12 matchup between the Washington Huskies (8-5) and Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-6).

Judging by the other bowl game thread, some drinks will be needed for actual discussion. I am drinking some Pinnacle Vodka and some Budweiser. Take a drink for every score!

I think I'm done with the super-gleaming chrome gold helmets. Even USC went with the chromed look a couple games this year and it was blasphemous. I've always liked U-Dub's traditional Don James-era look. Ok States helmets are kind of cool with the silver stripe though.

He was sort of Bo's west coast counterpart. Vary similar career timeframe and trajectory, starting out in the MAC. 1-1 against Bo, 1-1 against Mo in the Rose Bowl. Except he won an MNC share with his '91 win and should have won it instead of BYU in '84. Fun fact he coached Nick Saban and Gary Pinkel at Kent State. A true coaching giant you rarely hear discussed among the all-timers.

Just got back home from the game...  Ok State seemed like the better team overall, but UW did a lot better job of half-time adjustments imo.  Ok State's marching band is amazing.   It was an entertaining game but....

The game started around 43 degrees and its now 35 degrees.  I am a meat popsicle.  We're currently experiencing one of the coldest winters ever in the Valley, but on the positive we're back in the 70s by Tuesday.

The weather didn't impact play directly imo, but attendance was only 35k.  Last year's annihilation against KSU was roughly 53k.  I'd say at least half the fans left before half-time.
