damn you're quick, first post ends the thread. you took my reply. well played sir.
strong willed CEO's will make their own informed decision. Brandon will collect all the facts and data he needs to make his decision. He will not let fat rich un-informed alums make the decision. If he let them decide it would have ended after penn state.
Thank you im available all night. I also am a district manager for verizon and if you need a phone let me know.
What will strong-willed CEOs do? :P
As a strong willed CEO, there is only one logical thing for David Brandon to do - sell Michigan football to ArcherDanielsMidland's polymers division.
Ok, now the question I really can't answer...
Is Ke$ha attractive?
Wait a minute, NO!
Wait. maybe, yes, no, yes, NO!
Sometimes she looks great and sometimes she looks awful. Let's give her another year and see what happens.
Since when has it been acceptable for Hip-Hop fans to lower our standards so much? I can't believe we're okay with saying Kesha is attractive. Did you really think three years ago you'd be saying you're okay with Kesha being attractive? The rich alumns are not okay with this and the record department will hear about this.
Fire Kesha now.
But that Ms. Harbaugh down the street is looking hot from here. And I think she wants us.
Yeah, but I heard her telling someone I have a small penis, so I don't want her anyway.
No, she's just a young coach's wife and was disappointed she didn't get you. I'm sure it was a fit of passion and she'd jump at the chance to have you back.
Dang. Think she'd be interested in taking a shot at prettying up our D?
when he graduates?
All the 'shop in the world can't fix a busted face.
You sir, have just won the internet...still laughing as I write this.
Clever Michigan Reference: Getting confused for a dude since 2008.
But that's only because my mom started making me tuck my ponytail under my helmet so no one would pull my hair :[
And your comment + signature made me lol.
you, ma'am have a strange name for a woman. I'd take my middle name if I were you
that her annoying voice cancels out any positives she may have in the physical appearance department.
The answer is a resounding NO.
Ugh, she's horrible.....now, Beyonce, now that's what I'm talkin' bout....
Thought this was going to say:
"Tick tock. That's the sound of your life running out."
I think we need to just TAKE IT!
Is it bad that I gave up on Dexter after 4 seasons, because the Walking Dead is on at the same time?
Yes. Only because AMC and Showtime generally re-air the episode the same night.
I don't know... I'm not a huge zombie fan, so I don't know how worthy Walking Dead is of taking that spot.
I would recommend just downloading Season 5 though. It's been pretty intense thus far.
Walking Dead is amazing so far. It's not really a zombie story so much as a post-apocalypse drama. I would highly recommend it.
My time is pretty monopolized with school and a dozen other shows I follow, but I'll make a point to watch through some of it over Christmas break. I've heard only good things about it.
Given the number of points you have on this here board, I can think of one other potential drain on your time . . .
Psh, what do you think I do while I'm at school?
Finally got around to watching it this week.....and promptly watched all 4 episodes over 2 days. Great show.
positive or negative, to create their own thread as if their idea is the most novel and important. go comment in a thread instead of creating a FreeP headline to get attention
Reason: Because most people have an inflated sense of self-importance.
It's human nature.
you must be talking about me with that comment!
lol! Well-played. :D
I'm certain that, if I had read this, it would have been brilliant. A truly groundbreaking revelation.
We lost to OSU 7-37 and our coach may be replaced.
Um, yes you are going to get some chatter today. You're really surprised?
so... create more? no. also you have the option of allowing up to 2-300 comments per page to be loaded when you open a thread. makes life easier.
Regarding the defensive recruiting, I'd really like to see GERG depart on Monday. I think the only way we're going to rake in any high caliber defensive guys is if we bring in an exciting DC who relates to players and has credibility for coaching kids up and/or getting them to the league. I hate to say it, but I would not want to come play here if I were a top-end defensive recruit. We need to move on quickly so that we can still salvage this recruiting class on the defensive side.
Ditto. I don't see any need to keep GERG around for the bowl game. Why wait? There's absolutely no way he's retained; his firing will probably be a condition of RR retaining his job - if RR doesn't make the decision himself, that is. No point in letting a lame duck hang around.
the potential of having any sort of 2007 Bowl Game RR Effect on the Defensive side would be amazing. problem is our choice might be on a bowl-destined team and Assistants (as far as i know) rarely jump ship as compared to head coaches.
i agree that GERG needs to go on Monday. But, assuming RR is retained, I think it will be tough to convince a high caliber DC to take this job for two big reasons:
1. RR's Job Security Next Year: Why would anyone take this job if they know that there's a decent chance they'll be axed next year anyway.
2. Defensive assistants: Why would any stud DC want to be forced to work with RR's defensive coaches and be told to run the 3-3-5? Due to RR's unbreakable loyalty to these guys, I don't see them getting the pink slip.
Six point. SIX. Ah ah ah ah.
it needs to and the defense won't be much better, if at all, then what is you reasoning for keeping the staff. The offense is good, I grant you that, but EVERYTHING else is in shambles. The recruiting is weak, defensive staff is lost, the defensive players are young and possibly missing the necessary talent to keep the team in games in the near future and a HC who doesn't seem to care about defense or special teams.
All this sounds like a recipe for no progress next year or worse. The schedule next year won't be easier than this year and the defense probably won't be much better either. That combined with the admitted lack of defensive recruiting spells doom for the defense down the road. All that says DB has a HUGE decision to make. The future or this program and its relevance on the college football landscape is hanging in the balance.
I'm not sold on the offense. If Lloyd Carr didn't habitually call off the dogs when they got up a couple scores, they could have put up some pretty nasty numbers too. The offense's production increases as the point defecit increases as far as Big Ten play (which is the ONLY thing that matters) is concerned.
This is an important point. Good teams don't play eight Big Ten games. They play four or five and about half or three-quarters of the remaining three or four games. The gaudy yardage stats are a result of this team playing "more" games than an average Big Ten team.
Seems to be happening a lot today.
The board is busy and slow.
It was a crocodile.
Let's see. "RR should be fired". "RR should be held onto." Got it. Debate set. Now for this since there is nothing more to add to the thread:
I'm looking for evidence.
Yes you can say we improved because we have 2 more wins than last year. But is there any evidence that we will consistently compete for championships? I just don't think I see any.
We can beat weak teams, but RichRod was not brought here to win the MAC (or the Big East, which if UConn prevails you can say we "won"). Is there evidence that we can win Big Ten and National Championships?
There are just too many holes after 3 full years. Special Teams, Defense, turnovers, penalties, dropped balls, can't finish drives in a tight field. We are in game 12. Nobody is a freshman anymore after 12 games.
I need to see evidence that we are becoming a complete team. It's just not there. Next year MSU will be better, NW will be better, Nebraska will be coming in. Does it really look like we will be competitive? After 3 years, I just don't see a line of sight that we will.
WILL be better!
Judging by the comments I'm seeing on this board, I think we're turning into Notre Dame fans.
No, ND fans think Gruden is going to be their next coach. At least we're not that deluded.
I've been looking around, that ND is looking quiet attractive. I think they go to the gym a lot and have a nice upside. Where can I get a nice ring.
At least our team still has the potential to be good in the future.
Death Magnetic was fantastic.
As fans, I think there should be an outcry. I don't think we're whiners, or ND fans. We're Michigan fans who expect to win games and have a great program we can be proud of. In large part, we're what keeps the program going. So if we don't have high expectations -if we don't expect to be competitive with the best teams in the Big Ten - we will wallow in the middle of that 11, soon to be 12, team board like Indiana, Northwestern, and Illinois.
People are starting to expect us to be middling. Let's not become complacent and think, we'll do it next year. I want RR to succeed. But it's not happening as things stand. So, something needs to change. If they bring in a bunch of great defensive recruits, they'll be the new freshmen, not the seasoned saviors. Are our current freshmen talented enough to excel into their sophomore years and be a great defense? What will hasten that? I don't have the answers, but anyone who wants things to stay the same isn't seeing things as they are. None of our Big Ten wins were impressive. That should be incentive enough.
Mods, please increase the point minimum to > 7,000 for posting new threads.
And just for you, 700 because of your excellent suggestion.
That is awesome. Best ever.
Try this! Complain about the future not the past. If you look at the situation moving forward rather than in the rear things look up! We have a bunch of talent on our team as underclassmen with a whole season of experience (and ass whippings) underneath them.
That hasn't happen in quite some time.
It's not that bad. Looking at the current recruits we should be fine. I for one can't wait for the bowl game. Long time coming!
But honestly our defensive recruiting is a bit frightening...unless some of the redshirts breakout next year, the dline is going be a mess very soon, and depth throughout the D and special teams remains a hugh problem.
