Submitted by LSAClassOf2000 on

We've got two games tonight -

On ESPN starting at 7:30 PM, there is ACCtion - you can see Georgia Tech (6-3) vs. Clemson (8-1).

At 7:36 PM (that's what it says) on Fox Sports 1, some of you can enjoy (maybe) Marshall and Tulsa.

Triple option football indeed - Georgia Tech, however temporarily, has -1 yards passing now, if I did the math correctly.  Only about 40 yards of total offense (positive offense) in the game so far.

Paul Johnson seems to be mulling over how that drive went alright except for the part about the long reception and the resulting TD.

I will give them that - Georgia Tech sort of needs to do something here or the second have might be as much Clemson as the first half has been.

D has actually played well considering they've been out on the field the whole game.  That long conversion on 3rd and 18 hurt but Boyd dropped in a perfect pass over Jemea Thomas'  perfect coverage.  PJ called a creative wheel route for the A-Back Robbie Godhigh out of the backfield and the pitch to Robbie got us down in scoring range.  That was big to stem the tide.

I think we just saw the Dabo Swinney version of the "LET'S DO THIS!" look after the ruling on the fumble.

No matter, of course, as Gerogia Tech got it right back. You don't see defensive linemen catch interceptions every day.

A crafty exchange of turnovers there.

If Clemson is going to continue to play this level of run defense, then Georgia Tech might need to roll out the dreaded quintuple option, where you replace the two WRs in the normal formation with two RBs who hopefully can block. That's a thing, right?

This game is currently going on over on CBS Sports. Zona looks very good, up 9 on the Aztecs in the Viejas Center (a very tough place to win).
