Thursday Night NCAA Football Open Thread
It isn't Big Ten, and it isn't even an AQ football conference (EDIT: it is - thanks to MGoShoe for the correction, and apologies for my error), but there is some football on tonight for those who might be interested in some football. Well, Cincinnati managed five yards before the interception - on three play, if I counted correctly. Four plays and sixty yards later, it is 7-0 Louisville. Repeated success like this might make it a long night of Teddy Bridgewater hyping.

You not a Bridgewater fan or something?

It isn't Teddy Bridgewater. It's ESPN commentators covering games passively while the go on about just one person, which seems to happen sometimes in games such as these.

Fair enough.

...is a BCS AQ conference.

it was either MSU or Pitt to get into the B1G...

I think both would be good fits. Both are good fits athletically. Cincy is not a bad academic school but I'd give the edge to Pitt in that department. The problem is they don't bring in any TV markets, which seems to have been what conferenc expansion has been all about.

the team that lost 45-17 to Illinois, even playing? I thought that the season-ending-mercy-rule was applied to teams losing by 28 to Illinois.

Cincinnati has already run 28 plays, but only for 113 yards so far, which is basically just a shade over 4 yards per snap. Louisville is not going to make this terribly easy, but then they are basically putting out a typical performance on a yards per play allowed basis here.

Chad Henne and the Jags continue their shocking turnaround. 7-0 Jags on a Henne TD pass.

First time watching Cincinnati in a while. I remember a couple years back when Norfleet decommitted from Cincinnati and then committed to Michigan. Good times.

Cincy and Pitt are too small for the big ten and aren't very good athletically. Rutgers and Maryland already dilute our athletics enough.

Don't bitch. Big game or not, it's football. I've got the God forsaken, ear piercing sound of wretch-inducing music happening on my only available TV.

Chad Henne is doing okay. No sign of Denard.

Well, before this game, a few outlets were talking about a defensive struggle, but there have been over 700 yards allowed between both teams so far. In any event, the Bearcats last drive sort of reminded me of how Denard Robinson used to accelerate the offense when they went over 70 yards in 2 plays. That was pretty awesome when it did happen.

Should have called a timeout and got the ball back with 45 seconds left instead of 7.
