The Bobcats just scored after a gloriously brief goal line stand by Eastern  Michigan. 7-0 it is, a mere 5 minutes and 30 seconds into the game.

EDIT: A rare Bobcat turnover pays dividends for the Eagles, mainly because the Bobcats forgot about outside contain. 7-7 with 4:04 to go in the 1st.

Literally hundreds of people have come to Sun Life Stadium to watch the Hurricanes play Virginia Tech, from the looks of things. The section where the band is sitting is by far one of the most densely populated. Virginia Tech has run  23 plays for 105 yards and 3 points thus far.

EDIT: After an 81-yard punt return, it is now 14-3 Miami. They ran the punt to the 20 yard-line of VT, got a few yards on a dive play, and then VT, expecting....I don't know, another run play...apparently forgot that there were WRs out there.

Miami defense is looking the best it has all season, but then again that isn't saying much as it has been TERRIBLE all season.

And some corrections to your EDIT post. It was a kickoff return following VTs FG. And it wasn't even a WR who scored the TD, but a checkdown pass to the RB, Mike James, coming out of the backfield and no one picked him up.

But yes, the south Florida support for Miami has been pathetic all year. Playing 30 minutes away from campus is a bad thing, but the local community needs to setp up their support too. The U needs to become south Florida's team again. Instead of the fan base also being heavily split by UF and FSU.

Mmmm Hmmm

I know you must have posted this before Logan Thomas did his best Steve Threet vs Wisconsin impersonation...

Actually, even that one play (judging by seeing it once on TV, VT's O-Coordinator an RPS +all the points, says the guy who would never be able to UFR) doesn't change that Miami's D has looked good.  Also, their freshman RB has looked good.

What's up with VT this year, though? I know they lost David Wilson and his 20-yard runs in the wrong direction, but did they really lose that much?

I did, but still this was one of the best defensive halves for Miami all year (besides maybe 2nd half vs BC). And that is even if VT scores a TD here at the end of the half.

I am also a Miami fan, so I know much more about them then I do VT. From what I heard, they lost a lot of their support players around Thomas. I.E. Wilson, the WR who didn't catch the TD in OT for VT in the Sugar Bowl, and several starters on the offensive line. The biggest surprise this year, and even last year, is VTs lack of special teams. Beamer made his name off ST for a while.

Go with Matchups, but overall talent wise, McFadden is probably the best of the three. I am guessing no flex in this league? Also are trades allowed in an auction league? Seems to be a waste to have one of those 3 on your bench each week.

Well, Logan Thomas made that look easy....not Vick speed, but there was a hole there that even Willie Stargell could have run through. TD Virginia Tech.

EDIT: Wow. Johnson comes up big after one of Virginia Tech's DEs misreads only the whole play, but the Hokies make a decent red zone stop and the Hurricanes go for the FG. 17-9 Miami.

That last VT TD was just the parting of the Orange Sea. Duke Johnson with another response for Miami on the 65 yard run. He is a beast and is just a true freshman

Oh good lord....Miami was mere feet from perhaps conceding the drive and letting Virginia Tech make a game of it, and then that snap....Miami ball.

Virginia Tech also doesn't do itself much of a favor with the pass interference call. Granted, Miami still has a long way to the end zone, but the Hokies have been making a "long way" seem like "not a whole lot" in this game at critical points so far.

MIami's fan support is one of the most pathetic things in college football.  It makes Northwestern and UCLA look like trying to get tickets to the Super Bowl.  No wonder they have to bribe recruits with hookers and blow.

Duke Johnson is an absolute beast. The U is a very young team starting 19 freshmen and soph's. too bad the fan support they get is garbage. Next year they could be very good.
