Three OSU Players Linked to Alleged Rape
At this point, they have just been named in a search warrant filed by police. To be very clear, I am not making any accusations, but it seems like something to keep an eye on. No charges have been filed.

The mods might want to lock this one up early. It could get ugly.
I disagree. It's a story that's about to be plastered all over the news anyway, and I think we can handle this like adults.
I could also be wrong.
To clarify, I dont think it should be deleted, but I think the comments should be locked. I think most of us could handle this well. But it only takes one idiot to say something before it all goes downhill.
Yeah that's true. You're probably right.
Yeah, I don't like stuff like this posted on the board. I know you say alleged and all that, but until someone is charged with something, I don't think it needs to be posted here. It's far too rumor mongering-ish at this point.
I understand the feared harm that could come from this kind of post, but it just doesn't seem to be occuring. Nobody is speculating, rumour-mongering, making fun of it, etc. What's the problem?
I don't think it matters how the posters behave in the thread, I just don't think we need to add credibility to a rumor by posting a thread about. I wouldn't want rival board posting this type of thread about us, so I would want us to do the same. Once the words "linked" and "alleged" aren't necessary anymore, it's a story. Otherwise, the thread is basically "Something horrible might have happened that maybe or maybe not involved OSU players."
What is "due process?"

I would revise your comment to, "I think we should be able to handle this like adults". The cynic in me fears that will prove incorrect.
players does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Only one but he gets 3 credits for it.
How many flies does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Two. But they have to be horny.
that there is nothing to see here.
The Pittman transfer makes a lot more sense now
There were a lot of rumors on Ohio boards that Pittman was leaving due to some off the field troubles that hadn't fully surfaced yet. It's pretty easy to connect the dots back to him. Hopefully this isn't true.
Hate to hear stuff like this. Let's hope it's not true.
1. It isn't true
2. if it is true, the perpetrators are brought to justice and the victim gets the best counseling/treatment available.
Sounds like one of the players was Se'Von Pittman, who left last week.
Gordon Gee said Urban is the only LAW in town

...that Urban Meyer doesn't arrest HIM!
Grammar is clearly verboten in the ABC 6 Newsroom. Holy smokes that is a horribly written and hard to follow piece.
If this is a story, hopefully someone can write it up a bit better.
Yeah at first I thought it was just a collection of tweets.
In an effort to leave this discussion open as long as possible (I'd hope indefinitely like most threads) let's avoid any speculation on who the three named might be. ABC is declining to report names for a reason, and unless another media outlet decides to go there, this space isn't for saying who you think it might be. Also, I hate to even say something like this, but anything denigrating this young lady will be dealt with harshly; if your instinct is to make a joke at her expense, do it elsewhere.
It truly takes a special kind of douche bag to make jokes at rape victims expense.
rape accusations were discussed here, there were several rape jokes. And a number of people uprating those jokes.
And, yet, it was necessary for JGB to warn against anyone doing it. *Sigh* The internet brings out the best in us all.
They're often called "Redditors."
They are declining to report names, but they stupidly show one or two names when they show the document on camera.
Yeah, so that might pretty much be out the window, I didn't catch that the first time around. Still, being named in a warrant =/= guilty, and even if the names are out there there should be a lot of discretion used in trying to play "guess their involvement" especially with such a serious charge.
Just to save people the time of watching the video, one of the names is clearly Kyle Dodson.
Well at this point they've only been named in a warrant, so let's wait a little longer before we assume they're culpable. False accusations do happen.
While you shouldn't assume they're culpable, false accusations are so uncommon, that it shouldn't even be brought up.
Duke lax disagrees.
Oh, wait.(Shantee Orr)
I'd leave the smacktalk out of a situation like this. I sincerely doubt that a man with daughters like Meyer would knowingly recruit rapists. This action, if proven to be true, is the sin of the individuals involved, not Ohio's.
Kyle Dodson was offered by about 40 schools, including Michigan. It's not like there is a screen for the sexual assault personality type.
I wasn't trying to say he was immune nor was I giving him "credit" for doing what any decent being would do. I was merely pointing out that despite his liberal approach to recruits with shady backgrounds Meyer would not go so low as to knowingly recruit rapists--which is what THISISMICHIGAN was attempting to infer.
As much as I hate Urban Meyer, not JUST because he's the coach of our arch enemy, I'm certain that if any of the kids involved had rape accusation previously, he would not have been recruited by ohio or any other school. That's just an issue big time schools are not willing to deal with nowadays. Obviously, situationally if he was falsely accused, it would take a lot of time to find out the circumstances surrounding the situation.
Yeah, this isn't good for anyone involved...
Let's just hope justice is served, regardless of the football team affiliated...
Whatever the truth, there are a lot of people going through a very difficult situation right now.
Without speaking to the specifics of this case (of which, I know nothing beyond the report) It does raise a larger issue of male athletes and their views of, and interactions with, women and sexuality. I believe that all scholarship athletes at Div I schools should be required to take a course on personal finance and a course on sexuality that emphasizes gender issues.
