I don't disagree. When you're trying to break the story that "the three players that have been rumored to be under investigation for four months have finally been charged, but I can't put names out until I have it completely verified or I'll lose my job", he did about as well as he could with the twitter character limit. But I was confused when I first read it too.

You're rght that there are no unknown actors in this case. I didn't suggest there are. My response directly answers his question whether prosecutors can include unidentified parties in a complaint.

"In our example, we see that this is a case by the United States of America against Keith Johnson and Angela Johnson, who are the two defendants. Sometimes, a criminal case may be brought when the name(s) of some of the defendant(s) are still unknown, such as in large criminal conspiracies where not every member of the conspiracy has been identified at the time of indictment. In such instances, the prosecution may use placeholder names such as “John Doe” or “Jane Doe” for some of the defendants. "

Has authorized the charges, so their names will be released once they are officially charged. I'm guessing this will occur within a day.

as Dantonio is a deeply religious man as described in this USA Today article:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2013/12/22/mark-dantonio-interview-michigan-state-rose-bowl/4165109/

When they listen to music, it's usually country or Christian. And that signifies another important part of Dantonio's life and football program.

"He puts God first," MSU freshman running back Delton Williams said of Dantonio in the euphoric locker room after the win against Ohio State "And we put God first. Why do you think we're doing this?"

Dantonio was born and raised Catholic. He quotes scripture often, and several MSU players have said his openness about religion helped make their decisions to play for the Spartans.

"It was a big factor for me," MSU junior defensive end Marcus Rush said. "I think it gives recruits and their parents confidence that he's actually a legit, good guy. You can tell he's not just throwing it out there."

"You can talk about your faith or you can live your faith," he said. "You can talk about this program's culture, or you can be in this culture, live this culture. There's a difference there. Is it smoke or is it real?

EDIT:

Just want to make sure people know I'm mocking Dantonio and his hypocrisy and not religion in general as I obviously know Coach Harbaugh is a religious man and so are many on this board, and religion/politics are to be kept off the board.

I come from a DEEPLY religious background. Was in church upwards of 5 days a week,/memorized entire books/best friend's dad a preacher/best friend's a preacher, now/dated 20+ preachers daughters/christian school/played in 5 church bands at the same time/lead the music in one of them...etc. Never been able to fully "believe", myself. Tried because my entire social structure was in that "club" but always been agnostic/philosophical/scientific. But I CAN tell you that some of the worst people use religion as a mask to hide thier personal demons. Some are good people. Judging anyone based on religious involvement is just as wrong as assuming that everyone with a tattoo is a rapist. There's a lot more to it than that.

But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

It's sad that it has to be said, but good on MSU for not trying to cover this up. After all the other shit I've seen in the past few years, I was honestly pleasantly surprise.

This is prejudicial garbage. You are using your personal dislike for them that is based primarily on a sports rivalry to color your opinion of their moral character.

You simply have no evidence about what they might have done, but you are choosing the worst possible explanation because it fits with your preferences. So they do the right thing and you still find a way to make it "not really that right."

Bash them on the football field, and off the field when they deserve it. But they do not deserve it here and they should get credit for that. To go the small-minded "well they probably WOULD have done something wrong" route is something I would expect from bitter RCMB types.

are condemned to repeat it. How many DUIs had been pled down? How about the residence hall beat down perpetrated by members of the football team? Assault from basketball players that were overlooked criminally that later became the basis for a Title IX investigation from OCR? There's a long list of Sparty athletes miraculously escaping justice...

Are you a pastor as represented?, or a psychiatrist?

The evidence you speak of is not lacking.  It consists of prosecutorial and institutional decisions made in East Lansing over the last twenty years.

I have my opinion, and do not deserve to be told what to do by you.  And thank God I do not always get what I deserve, but your approach hardly is consistent with your calling.

And if you think my opinion is small-minded garbage, at least be man enough to say that directly, or put it on your mostly non-sports twitter.

You've ventured an opinion in a public forum, and I have expressed my opinion of your opinion. Based upon your statements here and in the other thread, there appears to be nothing that MSU would do that would lead you to believe that they are interested in doing things the right way; if your statements are an accurate reflection of your mindset, it is impossible for them to respond to this particular case with integrity.

That is prejudgment. You cite 20 years of evidence of cases whose facts we do not know, that take place under different athletic directors, different coaches, different sports, and even various government institutions. You are a lawyer, and you know that those "facts" provide no indication of the mindset or intentions of the staff and administration in the present case.

It's a public forum, and we are debating ideas. If you dislike that, you are free to withhold your opinion; disagreement is not "telling you what to do." At any rate, it is unclear to me what is indirect about the previous post. But, if you'd rather take impulsive personal jabs, I won't tell you what to do.

""Bash them on the football field, and off the field when they deserve it. But they do not deserve it here and they should get credit for that. To go the small-minded "well they probably WOULD have done something wrong" route is something I would expect from bitter RCMB types."

Sounds like telling me how to behave to me, but hey, that's just me.

I merely stated that, in my opinion, they probably would have tried to cover it up were it not for the increased scrutiny brought on by Nassar.

My opinion thereupon becomes "prejudicial garbage" worthy of the "small-minded...bitter RCMB types", yet it is not you, but me, who is taking "impulsive personal jabs".

Wake up and smell the coffee, Pastor.  I'm just a Michigan fan, no more, no less, who happens to know something about the criminal justice system.

For reasons only you can explain, you are now a MSU apologist in these matters.  See the padre, Pastor, he'll punch your ticket.

I am not going to waste my time reasoning with a MSU terrorist, because that is in essence what you are with this subject.  I really don't care what your assessment is of how MSU has handled this, nor whether yout opinion is right or wrong or somewhere in between.

I just think, again, for reasons only you can explain, you have chosen my post to go off on, and I would expect more from a fellow fan, much less a Servant and Pastor.

I really don't think Dantonio would have been part of that, but he hired Blackwell for recruiting advantages and nothing else. As far as I am concerned allowing Robertson on the team pretty much condemns Dantonio. It really reaked of desperation at the time and needless to say he may have been his own worst enemy in this mess. It would have been pretty difficult to cover up felony charges and what I suspect to be some serious convictions in this case and Robertson's.

According to the mlive article apparently a player told Dantonio something happened and he reported it quickly while Blackwell also heard, talked to the 3 players about the night and didn't report anything. Assuming this isn't just a fall guy situation it sounds like this is the best case scenario given what we already know.
