I'm thinking of just buying the kindle version (I've downloaded the kindle app for my PC, or whatever) for $14.99.  My question is: say my hard drive crashes or I get a crazy virus, can I re-download the book from Amazon without purchasing it again?

Unfortunately don't haz it yet...expected delivery is between October 28 and November 1, and considering I pre-ordered it back in June or July I think I can wait a few more days. I'm expecting the worst in a lot of ways but I don't think I've ever been more excited about a book about sports. Once I get it I'm definitely putting down what I'm currently reading to get through it as quickly as possible.

In Barnes & Noble (Flint) yesterday to pick something else up for my wife.  As I am walking through, there is a display with many copies of the book.  Picked it up and started last night.  I asked the employee why it was out already and she said there was no official sale date, so as soon as they received them, they put them out.

Props to John U and I'm sure its a good read but I'm never buying this book. I just don't want to relive or rehash three of the most miserable years of Michigan football. I commend those of you who do for your clearly stronger constitutions. For me, I just want to move forward and let these three years be a sidenote in the history of the program.

...sympathize with that reasoning but having been through about 125 pages so far, I would strongly encourage everyone to read it at some point in the next two years.

<br>At risk of revisiting the last three years and antagonizing the two factions of pro-RichRod vs. anti-RichRod, it's clear mistakes were made on both sides and this goes into as much depth and detail as possible.

With the decision to buy it on Kindle or not. I read the 1st hundred pages on iBooks and it's like crack! I will definitely want a hard copy, I just don't want to buy it twice!

Got it on my Kindle this morning; read through the prologue and part of the first chapter on the train. It will not be a pleasant read for some, but I am happy that there is a legitimate chronicle of the past 4-5 years, warts and all.

It was delivered to my office this morning.  I've been avoiding all the threads about the book.  I want to read it with an open mind.  I'm really looking forward to diving into it tonight.

Ya gotta love Dusty. He was the first person RR called after talking with Michigan. Dusty didn't believe him at first. Here is Dusty's response:

"Now, don't be messing with me, Rich. This is my mecca you're talking about! Let me just tell you this: Everything about Michigan is first-class."

Awesome but also really sad given how everything played out.

Ok, can somebody explain to me how an amazon seller is selling this book for $93 and another is selling it for $444 (!!!)?  I'm actually looking for an answer btw...

on my iPad. Came in last night...

The only reason I say this is because I am wondering if mgoblog can get a similar store up on iTunes to the one it has on Amazon? Felt "beveled guilty" that I couldn't get this blog some money with my iTunes money.

I've only read the excerpts -- not the entire book -- so I won't judge the latter. But from what I've read so far, Bacon makes a silly error in reasoning:

He finds it totally irreconcilable that Carr would endorse the hiring of RR while at the same time telling players they're welcome to transfer. I don't find this out of line. It's possible to support both the incoming coach and the current players. And, if anything, the outgoing coach should err on behalf of his players. If I were the outgoing coach, I'd tell the players the same thing. A new coach -- with an entirely new system -- is being brought in. The players should have every right to leave if they prefer. In fact, they should have the right to transfer whenever they wish. It's not the army. It's college. I think Bacon gets caught up in jock-think here.

Finished the eBook last night  and it was a real page turner and definitely really confirmed alot of my suspicions and thoughts of the past three years. Like others have said I do feel bad that Rich Rodriguez never really got a far shake but I am more angry at my athletic department and administration who never stood up for what was right.

Too often in the book you get a sense that the Michigan brand was worth more then the honor of defending someone who is supposed to be one of your own by telling the truth (Freep Issue, Buyout, etc). The silence and lack of defense of the program by the power brokers really comes through.

I think Bacon's book does a very good job putting us the readers into the locker rooms and coach's meetings which we as fans and alums never really get to see.
