Thomas Rawls heading to CMU
According to this retweet from Nick Baumgardner:
RT @E_Woodyard It's official Flint RB Thomas Rawls leaving Michigan for Central Michigan. Look out for my story soon.
It looks like Thomas Rawls is transferring to Central. All the best Thomas. I hope you can find some productivity in Mt. Pleasent.

There's only one way to settle this dispute: Duel.

I was just coming to post this. Good luck Thomas! He should get a good chance to show what he's got there.

whenever he played, he gave it all he had for us. . .I'm thankful for that.
January 25th, 2014 at 1:56 PM ^
Hope this move works out well.

Ricky Towns just decomitted from Bama. Michigan, perhaps? Nuss, perhaps?
January 25th, 2014 at 2:01 PM ^
His name is Ricky Town. Thanks for the heads up though. Nick Saban just visited two days ago, so you have to like Michigan's chances.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:37 PM ^
Maybe Ricky didn't like Kiffin's rendition of Sweet Home Alabama.

to a good kid who, by all accounts I've seen, was a good teammate while wearing the Maize and Blue. Hope he does well at CMU (except vs. WMU!).
January 25th, 2014 at 1:57 PM ^
Good luck to him. He's built like a rock. I really would have liked to see him prosper in Maize & Blue.
January 25th, 2014 at 1:57 PM ^
May all his CMU games be like that spring game. Also that one Illinois run.

Wish him all the best at CMU.

Best of luck to him. I hope he finds the opportunity he's looking for.

In another tweet, there was a direct quote from Rawls supposedly. It read:
"I thank fans for the support. Michigan made me a better man with great character."
Even though he is trasferring, that Michigan, in his view, made him a better person is something that should make us smile. Best of luck to him in Mount Pleasant and in his future.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:12 PM ^
+1 to Thomas Rawls for transferring with utmost class. Best of luck to him in Mt. Pleasant.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:01 PM ^
Not much of a surprise here. My only question is: why now? I figured most of the transfers/attrition would become clear as of the beginning of the winter semester because players intent on transferring would naturally do so at that point. In other words: shouldn't all the attritition be pretty clear by now? So far, though, nothing until Rawls? Or is this because of the new OC?
January 25th, 2014 at 2:05 PM ^
Good luck Thomas. Was hoping you'd get your M degree. You will get plenty of PT at Central. Fire up!

Good luck Rawls, and I hope you find a better OL to run behind.
Tough depth loss for Michigan.. :(

- Derrick Green
- DeVeon Smith
- Justice Hayes
- Drake Johnson

January 25th, 2014 at 3:00 PM ^
And Drake is both untested and coming off a fairly substantial injury. Granted, both Hayes and Norfleet could be switched back to RB. But, really, the team could use another body back there.
January 26th, 2014 at 7:55 AM ^
I doubt Hayes will be a slot receiver next year, unless we sign a RB in 2014. We just don't have the necessary depth, and not taking a RB in this class is a little baffling.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:11 PM ^
Can't blame the kid at at all. He's a big north-south runner who's got two big north-south runners ahead of him on the chart. And they're younger. Good luck to him.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:13 PM ^
Best of luck Rawls!

He scored on a TD on his new team.
Thanks for your hard work, Thomas.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:21 PM ^
Good luck to him. Not super-worried about the depth chart at the position, but always wish a kid the best when he moves on.
January 25th, 2014 at 2:25 PM ^
Good luck Thomas!
