Well...I fully expect to have a bust or two deep today now.

and he manages to get himself suspended instead.
I doubt the rules are hard to understand or hard to follow, but he had other priorities.
Next.

My bad anyhow. I should have noticed that it's got Thomas Gordon listed as starting 31 games.

...is augmented by the fact that Thomas hasn't exactly been Troy Polamalu so far in his Michigan career. If a younger player steps up, Thomas may be Wally Pipped right out of a shot at the NFL.

Has Dymonte even been practicing at Safety? I thought he was at Nickel all camp.

Leggo. Also, this should be fun to see who they play at safety

This is the first opportunity for game punishment for these guys after a very long offseason filled with chances to get into trouble. Having only one player suspended (outside of Hagerup which is a different story) is actually pretty impressive.

I'm really surprised to see this from Gordon. I've met the kid a few times and am FB friends with him, and he seems like a straight-shooter from what I've seen. Then again, missing curfew isn't the worst crime in the world.

I'm with you. And in my experience, it's always a lot easier to start out with strict discipline and have an opportunity to ease up a bit down the road than it is to go the other direction.

Like to know the backstory, but I'm guessing we'll never hear it. Ah well, at least it's against a team that shouldn't test the secondary that much.

Fwiw, a first time failed drug test results in an automatic one game suspension. A second failed test is an automatic four game suspension. A third results in a one year suspension with possible dismissal from the team.

Isn't Gordon a captain? WTF?

WRONG GORDON.
Furthermore, we don't know what happened. That dude is baselessly speculating.

It's just a person who plays a game. No need to get so upset. Perspective, yo.

Program rule instituted by Brandon when he took over in 2010.

... no way in hell does Brady Hoke suspend a starting senior for a full game for missing curfew one time. No way. An opening series, a quarter, a half, okay. It's all speculation, but I think people are kidding themselves if it was just a curfew miss.

Are you at least getting a workout beating up that straw man?
There's this thing called "precedent." If you're here to troll, leave.

To be fair, one of those programs was recently hit with violations stemming from players trading jerseys for tattoos, with a head coach who had a history of drug offenses at his last stop, and a reputation for being pretty lax in rule enforcement. The other is a school that suspended their starting DB for the last game of his career because he smoked weed and, likely, cost themselves a win against a top-10 team as a result.
UM athletes have their share of issues and I totally accept the hypocrisy inherent in this place, but one school has failed to earn the expect minor rules violations as the cause of suspensions.

about safeties keeping a RB in check. I am more concerned with pass coverage. I can easily see two or three big plays from CMU if Furman and Thomas struggle.
