I rather feel this way too. I like that the "team culture" encompasses even these details and that everyone is held to "high standards", as Hoke says. You never like to hear these things when it is someone who represented the team at Media Days and is one of the most experienced players out there though.

I wonder of this means Wilson and Furman will be back there at safety for some or all of the game now.

It's an easy and stupid thing not to do. Be on time. When one of your guys does this (assuming that's what this was), of course your coach is going to be pissed. Especially if his reasons for missing it were iffy.

This is all conjecture, of course, but you expect a guy like Thomas Gordon to get something like that right. So, yes, I can expect Hoke to be disappointed, and to use his disappointment as a motivation.

Welp, better against CMU than probably any other team other than Akron.

Definitely disappointing to have a senior / leader of the defense do something like that right before kickoff

kids being kids, i'm sure whatever Thomas did he understands that he let his teammates down, and didn't hold himself accountable to those who have worn the winged helmet.

I think that this is awesome. It shows Hoke cares more about teaching life lessons than playing a meaningless game. I've become more impressed with him as time has gone on. He's a great man.
