But is there an actual message board, so we can argue about the important things? Like Nike vs. Adidas. And Dogs Anal Glands

Also could someone please donate a server to Brian?

So, this means Nike, right? (answer: nobody cares about the apparel company but you.)

In all seriousness, this is like a web version of the interactive boards in Crisler.

Is this going to be a replacement for mgoblue.com? Because I.... don't like it. At least in comparison to mgoblue.com. Maybe it's because I'm an engineer, but as far as I'm concerned function >>>>> form. Give me something that's kinda ugly but makes it easy to find the information. This looks pretty, but makes it harder to find out actual information about the teams.

The worst thing I saw was the roster listing under "The Team" section for different teams. It shows 6 photos at a time, and you have to side scroll to see all the players. Not awful for the basketball team, which only has 15 members, but totally useless for the football team. Who the hell is going to scroll all the way over to Moe Ways?

This seems more like a recruiting-oriented site, given that it has sections like "TEAM LIFE: See What It's Like To Be A Wolverine, On And Off The Field," "Experience Life At Michigan," "Campus Life," and "Michigan Traditions," as well as quotes from current and former athletes that state how special, humbling, exciting it is to be an athlete and a student at Michigan.

If anyone, this is geared toward prospective student-athletes and their parents/guardians.

I just took a quick glance. The first thing that struck me was the colors. Notice all of the page coloring seems to use the correct maize color. It is especially evident when you look at it while also looking at the "traditions" picture with the cheerleader carrying the M flag that is highlighter yellow and blue. I hope this color correction leads to across the board color correction in uniforms, marching band flags, the M Go Blue Banner, etc.

Definitely a recruiting tool and a beautiful one at that.

This is the kind of 21st century thing Dave Brandon always was yammering about.  I don't know if he had a hand in the beginnings of it.  If he did, he finally got something right.  If he didn't, well irony is sweet isn't it.

So I heard Michigan was maybe going to lose funding for the Pure Michigan campaign so this must be what is replacing it.

of the site, but I'm not really the target audience.

On the other hand, anyone that says Michigan girls are ugly needs to be directed to that site, after you slap the crap out of them.

For recruiting purposes, this seems like it would definitely be attention-grabbing. I watched several of the videos and they are quite well done. Great high-level information on each link, just enough to hopefully get students thinking that they might want to visit Ann Arbor. I really liked the look of it overall too. Very awesome way to showcase Michigan athletics.

When you move your mouse and get a headache from all the stuff jumping out of you because of the on-hover JS, that's not good.

As a person who designs websites, not my favorite.

Some clarification about the nature of the site.

This was conceived as a recruiting site for prospective student atletes who are considering Michigan. From middle school to high school. It was intended to illustrate the academics, the campus, the sports, the teams, the coaches, the facilities and what life is like on campus for these prospective student athletes. It was important to have all the teams treated equally and allow th e exposure to the lesser know Olympic sports. The site's primary goal is to get kids/parents/advisors excited about UM while answering the most common questions. Ultimately we want to entice these student athletes to schedule an unofficial or official visit and come to our great instituion. Go Blue.
