There are...
days until Michigan and Brady Hoke show they're the perfect fit blowing out Western.
There are also...
days until Drew and the crew get back to work when Spring Practice starts.
There are also...
days until Big Daddy Richard Ash can get a photo of himself in a Michigan uni during the Spring Game.

Edit: Sorry for mentioning it; just found your post regarding your frustration re: your Avatar. Hopefully, this too shall pass soon.
February 21st, 2011 at 12:32 AM ^
Tried to change it, but avatar uploads are down. Tried deleting the original to see if the site would accept the new file, but no dice. Oh well. I didn't have an avatar for my first two months or so of my MGoLife so it's back to basics, in a sense.
Edit: Hey, no worries. Thanks for the sympathy.

I can't wait until we're discussing which receiver is going to be chosen on the Friday before gameday.
February 21st, 2011 at 12:31 AM ^
The Spring game will be the audition for the #1 receiver in the fall. Lots of classic 40-yard play action passes. Nothing too crazy--it's the QB audition too. Gotta give Devin Gardner his fair shot at the starting position.

I doubt anyone wears it until Big Ten season at the earliest. Gardner will have his time, but not yet.
I'm wondering if Borges will be able to get Devin and Denard out there together a few times though. Just the thought of a DC having to choose between those two makes me happy.

I imagine the QB situation will be similar to what we had in 2010. There will emerge a clear starter and one guy will be a situational/fatigue/injury backup. I too think that upperclassman Denard will start over RS frosh (fingers crossed) Devin, but Denard isn't a 100% proven pocket passer just yet.

Well, Borges and Hoke have both said Denard is the starter. Devin has immense physical gifts, but being more deadly than Denard is one I don't think he has.
I think once they get their system running with "their guys" Devin will be a better fit, but I doubt they try to run a full-on, under center offense this year. Borges said Denard will rush for 1000-1200 yards.

Pro-style set with Denard rushing for 1200 yards? What do we think we are, Ohio State with Troy Smith? :-)

We do have a Heisman winner under center who will be starting a national championship game by the time he leaves.
And the team that wins that national championship will have a Mattison defense..
so... Kinda?

I think in the spirit of competition which Hoke et al have impressed upon the team, we have to say that the QB job is up tof the taking, but I've got to think that regardless of Devin's talent, of which he has an emense amount, the QB job is strongly in Denard's hands. He's got a year under his belt, he was the B1G offensive player of the year, 6th place Heisman votee, and managed all of this while getting the S*** beat out of him. Devin will be the starter eventually, but Denard needs at least one year with this new staff to find out where things stand.
I for one fully anticipate 2 more years of Denarded football, for what little my opinion is worth.

are right, SHOELACE is just to good. After another year in the weight room,Denard will be even better.

Hate to do it to you, but when did they change the spelling of Crisler Arena to "Chrysler Arena?"

Ha, oh well, it happens. No harm or foul in calling me out, appreciate it actually. I'm sure I'll get negged for it.
