There are...

...days until the season opening romp over Hawaii.

Which means we are only...

...Saturdays away from the return of college football.

This should actually be the MGoVersion of "Margaret Thatcher naked on a cold day" a la Austin Powers. Yeah, this image is perfect for just about quashing any excitement one might feel in the moment. Well-spotted indeed.

Actually, I might need to start drinking now, having gone to a less happy place.

A few fun facts about that game

1. Freshman Ricky Leach was QB

2. Michigan went into the game ranked #5 in the nation

3. Last game where Michigan wore the white pants before last season

4. Leach was BRUTAL in the game.  Check out this stat line 2 for 20 passing for 20 yards and 3 INTs.  About as frustrating a game to watch as you can imagine.  Oklahoma had their secondary playing about 2 yards off the line of scrimmage

5. Michigan's (and the Big 10's) first non-Rose Bowl bowl game

6. Bo's misery in bowl games continued dropping his record to 0-3 as Michigan lost 14-6

I wish OT season would continue forever. I can't get enough threads about the proper shade of maize, the new jump man clothing or what I did on my summer vacation.

What did you do on your summer vacation? Right now I am on an unscheduled trip visiting my folks after my Dad's unscheduled heart bypass surgery. But Wednesday we are heading to the Cadillac area to see relatives and see the big Lake and pick blueberries and do stuff that one does .

I don't know about you guys but every year this time of year there's some sort of fuckup in the space time continuum where each day feels like a week and each week feels like a month. Time slows to a near halt and just when I'm about to lose my mind with anticipation, BOOM opening weekend hits like a ton of bricks.

I went to that game. My memory was that both defenses were dominant and Oklahoma scored on a end around or some type of a trick play and a quarterback scramble. I also believe a turnover played a role. Yes, good, but not good enough.

I think that the MMB team was expected to compete for the national title and that was the talking point at the end of the game.
