There are...
...days until Terrance Taylor see Michigan start the season 1-0.
Terrance started at nose guard for three seasons at Michigan. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL draft by the Colts, but never made the final roster. Terrance was signed to the Panthers' practice squad (released five days later) and then the Lions' practice squad (released in April 2010). He then played in the Arena Football League for the Spokane Shock and Pittsburgh Power, but his current team is the Orlando Predators.

Can't wait!

Fourth round pick cut in his draft year. That doesn't seem to happen often.

The Lions under Millen once cut a 2nd rounder his draft year. It can always be worse.
Drawing a blank on who that was because I know he drafted a bunch of busts in the 2nd round

I forget his name too. But he played for Hawaii and was a DE. He was drafted like 53rd or 63rd. I just remember it ended in a 3.
Ikaika Alama-Francis? He was a DE out of Hawaii that the Lions took with the 58th pick. He was hurt most of 2007 but did play in four games, and played in 2008 before being released by the Lions.
Looking through the drafts, I didn't see any first, second or third round picks cut their draft year. There were a couple fourth rounders, though, CB A.J. Davis in 2007 and DE Johnathan Taylor in 2002.
It gets better my friends

Only one I can remember is Maurice Clarrett (sp?), whose brilliant agent had him sign for no bonus.

Dead zone is so painful. Can't wait for football again
67 Mervin Pregulman days!!
He played football as a tackle and center for the University of Michigan from 1941 to 1943 and was selected as a first-team All-American in 1943. He was inducted into the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, narrowly surviving a kamikaze attack on his ship in 1945.
Pregulman was a first-round draft pick (seventh overall pick) of the Green Bay Packers in the 1944 NFL Draft. He played four years of professional football with the Packers (1946), Detroit Lions (1947–48), and New York Bulldogs (1949). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1982.
This is kind of a depressing post...

Would you prefer Matt Lentz?
I don't click on all the "there are...." posts mostly due to time restraints, but when I clicked on this one I was surprised it's down to 67. Seems like only only a day or two ago it was in the 80s.
Unless you meant it's depressing that June is almost over. Then yeah, I'm amazed too that the 4th is only a week away. Crazy fast!
Lots of people see that number and think it's still way off, but it's really not. Just think - on Friday we will be able to say "summer practice* starts next month."
*or "fall camp" to most, but I call it summer practice because, well, they take place in summer (until it turns to autumn, of course)
already done my ESPN game check for opening weekend. Thursday is a little more "meh" than usual, South Carolina at Vandy headlines it, with Oregon State at Minnesota being the other watchable option. Michigan State plays host to Fuhrman on Friday, which I will watch until I can't stand looking at Michigan State anymore (like 5 minutes). But then......
USC v. Bama on Saturday, Notre Dame at Texas on Sunday, Ole Miss v. FSU on Monday.
I be like Damnnnnnnnnn
Oh yeah, mate. The opening weekend is full of really good games. The first Thursday has many and I will be watching as much football as I can. I have Dish Network with the new four screens on on television feature, which will be highly utilized this year. On my 80" television, that feature is phenomenal. Each screen is about 36".
Still torn - I can't wait for football season, but I'm not ready to sacrifice my summer yet.
FUCK summer. Worst season of the year.
Sports-wise, yes. Only good sports are golf and tennis (only the majors for tennis and that leaves Wimbledon and the US Open). At least we have the Olympics to hold us over for about two weeks.
I'm partial to watching those astounding athletes ride up mountains and risk their lives riding down. Three weeks of listening to that english guy and American Bob.
I was ready to sacrifice spring and summer before they started if it meant having football back.
Step back a little. There is golf to think about here. You are trying to take away like 25 tee times I have remaining this summer alone.
I see we're back to "that" Maize. harrumph.
why are?
How hard would it be to make a "There Are..." App that automatically updates with new pictures. App costs a buck with all proceeds going to Chad Tough or similar and maybe throw the schedule on there for good measure. Anybody with me?
are asking me, personally, that sounds incredibly difficult.
especially when the tigers can't seem to beat the fuckin indians. . .
It's too goddamn hot and there's no football. Other than asses in bikini's, the entire season is useless.
The game will be a blow out!
That's a nice maize
Curious why this post was downvoted? Do some people not like Taylor or something, or maybe they just dont like the number 67?? Just thought it was odd that we are that much closer to Michigan Football and people dislike it ??
Some people find the daily countdown threads excessive. They do not belong on this blog.
