I feel like we've been the college football equivalent of the freakin' Hebrews in Egypt. Here's this dude Moses come to deliver us to the promised land! For the first time in forever the team is what we thought it was; upper tier, a team vying for the national championship, a team loaded with talent. I remember right before Coach Rod was hired how there was a sentiment on how Michigan was underachieving, like anyone should be able to take us to double digit wins every year just because we were 'Michigan'. A lot of us were tired of the same ol' Michigan offense, tired of Coach Carr's underwhelming teams. Between the Coach Rod years and the Coach Hoke years I really learned an appreciation what Coach Carr did; there are many possible 'Michigan's and you have to earn it to be the best one. Who doesn't feel Coach Harbaugh isn't going to take us to the promised land?

OSU lost far more than State did, but both lost a ton at important positions.

OSU's lines will be suffering big time this year. They will fill in with 4 and 5 star recruits, yes. But they will be playing 4 and 5 star recruits that have been starting in the Big Ten for 2+ years. They return Barrett and Raekwon, but lost almost everything else from their great team the last two years. I expect both Sparty and OSU to finish the year with at least two losses, and the loser of their game against each other will have at least 3. 

Down is relative I guess, since neither are going into RichRod era of darkness. But neither will be legit playoff contenders this year, either. 

Oh you definitely have to be sociopathic to be a successful politician. There are very sparsely populated dirstricts where I'm sure a representative who loves their town can get elected with 70% of the vote and go to DC. But to go to Washington and stay, or even gain power, yeah you 100% have to be a sociopath.
