I remember watching Wheatley play for Robichaud in HS. A true man among boys. And that Rose Bowl vs Washington was incredible. "Wheatley explodes!" Man, there haven't been many like him.

it should be mandatory for every UofM fan to watch Wolverine Historian' tribute to Wheatley. I think the younger generation may not be aware of how spectacular his combination of size and power was. if not for injuries, he probably would have been another Heisman winner.

always remember the Outback bowl back to back plays to end the game. Never hated and loved a player at the same time before

Such an athlete. Loved watching him play...on the football field and the track. Although, when I watched him race my brother in an indoor meet he hurdled more like he played running back...ran through the hurdles like defense backs trying arm tackle him. Barely a month after a bowl game and he was already in great form on the track.

Either way, so excited he's back home.

Go Blue!!!
